So, this month's re-work piece is "Buttons"- she was originally a 7" x 5" pen and ink sketch/illustration...and I am turning her into a 10" x 8" painting! Here is the ink version of "Buttons":
I do have an ACEO print of her up for auction on eBay HERE- probably one of the very last ones of this version EVER to be made! So...here are some work in progress shots (crappy ones, and for that I apologize, and will blame my iPod camera):
As you can see, I have added a bit of a 'story' to her, with some slightly wonky props and furniture. I told myself I would NOT use every color in the rainbow on this piece, but I think that might have been wishful thinking...
I am mostly working on cartoon/comic art at the moment, so I hope you can forgive my lack of updates and such. Running two completely different operations gets a little...well, fucking batshit crazy. I can't lie, and I can't not swear, because I want the emphasis. Also, because once in awhile I feel the need to remind everyone that while I may paint pretty things, I have a pretty...gritty personality. That is not to say I cannot be sweet, but...Uhh...something something...cavities? Yeah :P
Before I 'sign off', though, I would like to remind you all of all my OTHER auctions happening on eBay- you can see them all HERE! Just a short one this week...
I've got a lot on my mind, too much going on in the studio, and almost no actual drive to follow through this week, it seems...but I will not bore you with my woes! I have two brand new pieces that I want to share- "Inner Bird 2" and the Capricorn Zodiac Monster!
First, "Inner Bird 2"- the second installment of my inner portrait series. This particular lady prefers the hot dry air of this strange landscape. She is seen here in her weird bird mask, baking under a red sunset. This is the original painting (9" x 12" acrylic on a canvas sheet) and she is up for auction on eBay at the link below her picture:

The other new original is the latest piece in my Zodiac Monster series- "Capricorn"! I myself am a Capricorn, and if I would feel okay about keeping this little dude to myself, I totally would! But that just doesn't seem right. So, he is up for auction at the link below- all the details of the piece, and more pictures as well!

I know I should just reserve this information for my other blog, but since I am my own boss and make my own rules, you all must suffer the consequences of my occasional need to shamelessly self promote. ANYHOO...There are 6 different Dorkling comic prints up in my zombietoes etsy shop, along with sets of all 6 (and my "Fowl Behavior" comic book!)...If you would be so kind as to pop over there and take a peek, get a giggle, mayhaps support this poor silly fool with some cash (dont worry, I will mail you something in return!) Well, I hope you are ready for a naked lady, because I have one! :D Also, Ive been cleaning my studio out a bit, so I have some supply goodies parceled out, and print sets of some of my older works!

NOW- I know I have been saying for awhile now that I was going to destash some of my supplies...well, I *finally* started! I went through my entire paper collection (and believe me, it was no easy feat, took me most of a day!) and I have put together a bunch of paper packs. These are great for random crafting, scrapbooking, bookmaking, just fooling around...There are also embellishments, tags, and assorted stickers and such, plus a small sheet of craft suggestions and two mixed media art prints for inspiration! In sorting through my studio things, I've discovered a lot more things that I could get rid of, so...be prepared for more destashing! Also, I am coming up on my 400 "likes" on my FB page, so I have been pondering a giveaway...Also been needing to update my website, but it needs to be streamlined, too, and every time I update it I just get pissy...it's turning into a giant monster. :\ Pain in the butt, but worth it. So there's that. I also have some new goodies coming in, to mail out with your orders! Yayfun! Other than that, there are some illustrations in the works, and I'm sure some crazy whim I will drop everything and follow, even knowing I should be focusing on other things...Stupid epiphany projects, all comin' outta nowhere, messing up my schedule...:)

Oh, man...
Sorry about being lame and not posting anything for a week! :\ I've been gardening my butt off, getting ready for a craft fair, moving furniture around...Tons of random chores and errands! Ugh, just thinking about it all is making me tired! But...I did get to mall with my girlfriends, and go out for drinks this weekend, so...I did get some relaxation in :)
Unfortunately, I don't have anything brand new as far as art goes, but I do have some eBay auctions running right now that I had not posted previously...So I will update you all on those right now!
The first is an original ACEO illustration- "Over the Rainbow" is one of my new favorites! A pretty (and tasteful) nude, sitting on a fluffy cloud, under a rainbow. On her parisol perches a little bird. Another ACEO for auction on eBay- "Green Smile"- this ACEO is an open edition print of my original illustration...A sultry pin up, in green and black striped lingerie, holds a rather tantalizing purple hooka. One last auction :) I've listed the original painting of "Raven 15" for auction- this piece was previously living in my darklingemily etsy shop, but I thought I'd try it in a different venue...This is indeed part of my ravens series, featuring simple black birds on colorful, abstract backgrounds. I swear, later this week I will have brand new art to show off, and more information regarding the craft fair I will be attending- offering lots of art (originals, prints, ACEOs, etc) and other goodies like bookmarks and free smiles, of course! But, for now, I am going to watch a movie about Jeffery Dahmer, eat some M+Ms, and futz around the studio.
