So, this month's re-work piece is "Buttons"- she was originally a 7" x 5" pen and ink sketch/illustration...and I am turning her into a 10" x 8" painting! Here is the ink version of "Buttons":
I do have an ACEO print of her up for auction on eBay HERE- probably one of the very last ones of this version EVER to be made! So...here are some work in progress shots (crappy ones, and for that I apologize, and will blame my iPod camera):
As you can see, I have added a bit of a 'story' to her, with some slightly wonky props and furniture. I told myself I would NOT use every color in the rainbow on this piece, but I think that might have been wishful thinking...
I am mostly working on cartoon/comic art at the moment, so I hope you can forgive my lack of updates and such. Running two completely different operations gets a little...well, fucking batshit crazy. I can't lie, and I can't not swear, because I want the emphasis. Also, because once in awhile I feel the need to remind everyone that while I may paint pretty things, I have a pretty...gritty personality. That is not to say I cannot be sweet, but...Uhh...something something...cavities? Yeah :P
Before I 'sign off', though, I would like to remind you all of all my OTHER auctions happening on eBay- you can see them all HERE! Hee hee, can you tell I am psyched to have time to make art? I thought I'd better take a quick break and get this blog posted, as it's been awhile...
I do have a few new auctions (two new ACEO originals, and an older Raven painting), plus some nifty new Zazzle products to share!
New aCEOs...These are both listed for auction on eBay, both with starting bids of just 99 cents...:) "Two Ralphie Birds" is a 2.5" x 3.5" ORIGINAL ACEO; Ralphie is one of my very favorite characters, cooked up in a sketch book session! I've generously squeezed TWO little Ralphies into this piece, for your smiling pleasure. More info and details at the listing- the link is below the picture:

The other new ACEO I've just listed is titled "Reading Lamp"- a deep sea mermaid gets a little help from her angelr fish friends as she tries to read her treasure map in the darkness of the ocean...I really like how the colors came out in this piece; for awhile, it looked rather dodgy, but I just kept painting on it until I was satisfied :) Again, more details and info are at the listing- visit the link below the picture for more:

So...I've been messing around with my endless pictures while I have my coffee in the mornings, and have created a bunch of new, fun Zazzle products! Something of interest (to me, anyway) are these photo sculpture things...Currently, there are two different ones, made from my "Sunny" mermaid illustration, as well as from my "Inkling 1- Falling Sky" painting. The coolest thing about these photo sculptures is that you can have them made in a variety of ways- magnets, ornaments, pins, wall hangings, or stand alone sculptures. So, I have finally found some time to post a blog! Yay! This weekend was crazy busy, and also the weather was super beautiful, so I was outside for most of it :)
I've got just two new pieces to share tonight- one dragon and one really nifty fiber art book...
This fiber art book is an amalgamation of a bunch of supplies I sis not want to throw out- but I swear to you it is not garbage! I had a bunch of two inch squares of primed canvas- trimmings from larger sheets that were so smoothly gessoed that I just couldn't get rid of them...So, I painted a bunch of two inch paintings instead! This book is in a bluebird theme- four original cartoon bluebird paintings are hand sewn onto raw pieces of canvas; I've also added a hand painted bluebird patch for the front cover, and a chipboard skeleton key on the back...
This piece is ACEO sized (2.5" x 3.5")...embarrassingly "shabby chic" in style *shudder shudder* but still beautiful. To see loads of pictures and perhaps even adopt it into your home, please follow the link below the picture:

Also new tonight is another dragon ACEO original- "Rose Petal" is a little pink dragon (hence the name)...I do not normally work in pink, as it is not one of my favorite colors, but...I thought "what the hey"...So, to make up for the girly color, I gave him a crabby look, heh heh. I am still slowly working on my latest Cartoon Aquarium piece- an octopus, he's weird and cute. Tomorrow looks like it's packed from dawn til dusk with running around, so I don't know when I'll get to finish him...I think it's going to be a long and ridiculously busy week. I'm getting a little tired just thinking about it :)...I better get to bed early tonight.

EEE! I seem to have finally come out of my slump- of course, it's only been 4 days or so, but i t was the longest 4 days I've had in quite some time...I basically did a bunch of spring cleaning, paper work, sketching, and a little moping here and there- read part of a book, watched some movies...Though there is always a ton of stuff I can find to fill my day, I never feel right when I can't make art...But I do know enough to not try to force it out, I just have to let the creative cycle do its thing.
At any rate, I have three brand new, original ACEOs up for auction tonight! I thought I'd start off small (size wise) and work into some bigger pieces...The new ACEOs are up on eBay, each with a starting bid of just $5 (and free shipping on all!). Again, these are ALL original paintings, done in acrylics on ACEO sized (2.5" x 3.5") pieces of canvas.
