Well well, I hope you are doing well!
This is going to be a rather dragon-y post :) I thought I'd give the clowns a short break, though I am sure they will be back very very soon! I have a brand new dragon painting to share, as well as a new Facebook exclusive auction (also dragon-related!)
I know it's not a lot, but I'm trying to keep up with the posting :)
Most of my dragons are friendly creatures, though at times they can cause quite a bit of trouble, as dragons are prone to do. However, I happened to summon this angry little beastie the other day...I know he is not the most, uh, jovial creature, but perhaps you would consider adopting him just the same? This is an original 6" x 4" acrylic painting, titled "Shank". He is up for auction on eBay with a starting bid of just $15! To see the auction listing, and place a bid, please visit the link below the picture:

Now, I also have new Facebook exclusive auction running, until tomorrow night...I know it is short notice, however, it seems there are still no bids on it, so I may extend it a few more days...in the meantime, details: this is a "Raspberry and Cream" color themed auction, featuring a handful of my lovely hand made goodies- a small journal, a pouch, a fabric charm, some paper tags, and an original mixed media dragon piece! Everything matches, it is quite a pretty set of goodies! The bidding starts at $0; more specifics and info on the items and how to place a bid are at the link below the picture (on my Facebook art page):

I will have a lot more to share over the next week, but for now I have to go relax for a bit, I am feeling a little bit drained.

Happy Fourth of July!
I'm gonna make this a quick post, cuz I have a lot of art work waiting for me! But tonight I have some new auctions!
The very first auction is a brand new ACEO, and the first in my series of circus/shideshow themed illustrations! "Sword Swallower" is an ORIGINAL 2.5" x 3.5" illustration, done in archival inks and acrylic paints on bristol. She is up for auction on eBay, with a starting bid of only 99 cents! To see more detail pictures, read more info about this piece, and even make a bid, just visit the link below her picture:

The other two auctions I have recently listed are both older pieces, in need of good homes :) "Green Eyes" is a one of a kind fairy ACEO, in mixed media (fabric, assorted papers, ink, and paint)- up for auction on eBay, also with a starting bid of just 99cents. To see the listing and more details, check out the link belwo the picture:
"Green Eyes" original fairy collage ACEO
And, last but not least, I have also put up one of my smaller original acrylic paintings- "Red Wine Fairy" is 5" x 7", and she is adorable, with her big blue eyes and pale skin. She is listed for auction, starting at $15...To see her auction listing, follow the link below her picture:
"Red Wine Fairy" original big eye fairy painting
Of course, there are a few art auctions ending soon (within the next day or so) and most of them have not reached over $5 yet! To see all my auctions on one page, just click here!
ALso new- the good folks over at MyTagArt have put up some brand new tubes for all of you who like to make digital signature tags and the like...TO see all my new PSP tubes, they are here (newest additions are at the bottom of the page).
So, I know I haven't been very "talkative" online lately- I have been working nonstop! I am currently balancing a few projects (as usual!), including my latest jester, this circus ACEO series, getting things sorted, edited, and formatted for my zombie compilation book, and other odds and ends. And with that said, I'd better get back to my desk and get some colors filled in!

Loads of fun stuff- T shirts, stickers, mugs, stationery, bags, buttons, and more in my Zazzle Shop!
Oh, how the time flies!
As you may have guessed, I have some new art tonight, as well as some new products in my Zazzle shop!
For the new art, I have two new ACEOs (Art Cards, Editions, and Originals) up for auction on eBay. The first is a little pin up illustration, of a pretty girl reading a book..."Studious" is an original illustration, in acrylic paints and inks, up for auction with a starting bid of just 99 cents! To see her listing, and perhaps make a bid, just visit the link below her picture:

The other new ACEO is one you may find a bit familiar- I made a tank top of "Purple Daze" about a week ago, and put it up in my Zazzle shop. Now, you can own the original illustration- she is also up for auction on eBay, with a starting bid of 99 cents! To see more, and make a bid, just check out the link below her picture:
"Purple Daze" original mermaid ACEO
There are new things in my Zazzle shop as well! For instance, stickers featuring the dragon for my "Inkling 3- Pedestal" painting, and tote bags with my "Monarch" big eye dragon image on them! To see all the new items I have put up, just follow the link below the picture:
New items in Emily's Zazzle Shop!
Also, Zazzle is holding a 4th of July sale- 17.76% off all orders (From now through Monday)- just use the code ZAZZLEUSAUSA when you check out to get the discount!
Now, to give you a little update of the Blogmanina Scavenger Hunt:
Tomorrow (Thursday, July 1), the Blogmania Scavenger Hunt will begin; by participating, you could win a $100 gift certificate to a participating shop of your choice!! I will be posting the complete list of shops tomorrow...Remember, you have to find this image in every shop listed:
I will also be posting a hint as to where in *my* shop I have hidden this image, and more information...But if you *just cannot wait* to start the hunt, there is a sneak peek of the shops on The Clever Mommy's Blog!
As usual, I am up to my eyeballs in work, but...I have gotten ALL of my illustrations 100% completed for the new zombie limericks! Woo!! Though I will never get into my head that it might be a good idea to create zombies in MODERATION, rather than working on them furiously in every spare minute I get for days at a time...It does make for some awfully strange dreams. LOL!!
Speaking of strange, I am plugging away at a bunch of ACEOs in my new circus/sideshow series. Many are still in the "pencil skritchings" stage, a few have been inked, and some even have a few layers of color. I couldn't decide which to start on first, so I am making both the circus and the sideshow, so, expect to see art ranging from carosel horses to the Fiji Mermaid, and all the weirdness in between very soon!

Greetings all!
Let me see...I've got the latest zodiac dragon to share today, along with two new mermaids! I've been in a bit of a mermaid mood lately, if you couldn't tell! :)
First, though, allow me to unveil the "Gemini Dragon" illustration! A two headed, double winged, dual colored dragon, with big purple eyes! I'm very pleased with how this particular beast turned out- it was a bit of a challenge to put two heads on one body! A very special friend was the inspiration for the purple eyes- gothic and fantasy artisan Natalie VonRaven (who happens to be a Gemini herself)! You can check out her fabulous works through her Facebook page here:
Natalie VonRaven *Magisterian*
The original "Gemini Dragon" illustration is available for purchase, or just a peek, through my darklingemily etsy shop...To see/read more details, please visit the link below the picture:
"Gemini Dragon" original fantasy zodiac illustration
Also newly listed in my darklingemily etsy shop is an original 5" x 7" mermaid illustration titled "Freshwater Mermaid". This piece was inspired by the small pond behind my studio. I realized that the vast majority of my mermaid art is ocean based, and wanted to create a mermaid that could potentially be found in the middle of the forest! "Freshwater Mermaid" is available for purchase at the link below her picture:
"Freshwater Mermaid" original fantasy illustration
One more wee mermaid piece- This one is titled "Daydreaming Mermaid", and she is an original ACEO illustration. Slightly cooler colors in this one, and her long lashed eyes are closed, as she is really envisioning something marvelous :) She is listed for auction on eBay, with a starting bid of just 99 cents! To see more pictures, read the details of the art, and even make a bid, just follow the link below the picture:

I do have one important new development to share, and it is about shipping costs. So, if you are a buyer, or are considering buying a piece, please read the note at this link, which is an overview of my new shipping info:

Hello all!
This is sad, but...I don't even remember the last time I posted...sometime last week I suppose. I had a very busy weekend visiting my mother, who was up from Atlanta...We took a day trip to the Salem/Marblehead area to visit with my Nana and spend some time by the sea...okay, the harbor, but close enough :) So far, May has been an awfully busy month for me, and it looks like the craziness will continue all month long, into June...Yoy! At least it's nice out, though the warm weather always makes me sleepy.
So...it's art time! I have not had a lot of time to make new pieces, however I do have two new ones to share (why is it always in twos? Who knows...) The first is a mermaid and sea dragon illustration- "Napping Sea Monster"- some of you may have been following the work in progress in my facebook album, but for those of you who haven't, she is all finished up now and listed in my darklingemily etsy shop! A bit about the piece: an original 10" x 8" illustration, in mixed media (acrylic paint, colored pencil, and archival inks on bristol) featuring a beautiful mermaid and a sleeping sea dragon in her arms! Also, a bunch of fish and two seahorses, all packed full of color. Like an underwater rainbow, I guess. To see detail pictures, read the blurb I wrote, and perhaps even purchase this fun art, please follow the link below the picture:
"Napping Sea Monster" original mermaid + dragon illustration
Also brand new, a dragon silhouette ACEO! "Out on a Limb" is an original acrylic painting on a small sheet of artist canvas (2.5" x 3.5")- a swirly, abstract purple-red-ochre background, with a black dragon silhouette perched on some strange curly vines...It is a simple piece, but I just love the challenge of working in silhouette...it is not as easy as it looks to give an image a decent outline and still have it look like what it is supposed to represent...Sometimes a pose that would look fabulous with details will just turn out to look like a black blob in this style. Blah blah blah heh heh! At any rate, this piece is up for auction on eBay, starting at just 99 cents with free shipping- to see more, please follow the link below the picture:
"Out on a Limb" original dragon silhouette ACEO
Speaking of eBay auctions...I'm still going through my cleaning phase, which means I am listing some older art for auction...Though I have sold most of my older ACEOs, there is a generous handful of (slightly) larger illustrations that I will be posting for auction this week...The first of them being my little "Monkey Woes" piece...I really love this tiny gypsy and her monkey, but it is time for them to find a new home, so...she is an original illustration- 3.5" x 5"- up for auction, starting at $5 (with free shipping)...To see her listing, visit the link below the picture:
"Monkey Woes" original gypsy fantasy art
There will be more older art going up each day this week, and into next, so if you would like to bookmark the page that displays all my eBay listings at once, here is the link: http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/darklingemily
I am hoping to get myself composed enough to be able to post more often, and ramble about silliness, because I know there are those of you out there who love my art, but you have also stated you enjoy reading my random thoughts...I really don't consider myself to be all that entertaining, but of course I spend all day, every day, with me...so I may be a little biased. I do love myself, however...there are times where I can annoy the crap out of me. But...anyhoo...back to work I go!

Just a quick post tonight, I am totally pooped out from gardening all day...and thinking about how much more I still have to do...I could seriously fall asleep right here at my keyboard.
So...let me get right to it, then :) I've got my brand new "Monarch" dragon to share- he's also available in t shirt form from my zazzle shop! And a newly listed collage ACEO- she's an older piece, but the first time I have ever listed her :) Also, a link to a tutorial for creating tags and such from my friend Jenny via MyTagArt :)
Very first- "Monarch" is my latest dragon, and he's got two butterfly buddies with him! This is an original 10" x 8" painting, done in acrylics on a canvas panel. You can read/see more details, and perhaps even invite him into your home at the link below the picture:
"Monarch" dragon original fantasy painting
"Monarch" is also available on long and short sleeve t shirts and hoodies in my Zazzle shop- you can choose your own shirt style, size, and color- there are also kids and infant sizes! Check it out at the link below the picture:
"Monarch" dragon custom shirts
The latest eBay auction I've got going on right now is an older collage piece- "Carry It Always" is an original mixed media ACEO (2.5" x 3.5"). It features a fairy nymph, with lots of colorful hair, and big green eyes...She's very pretty, and will surely bring a touch of magic to your home! This piece starts at jsut 99 cents, with free shipping. too! To see more info and details, please visit the listing at the link below her picture:
"Carry It Always" original fairy mixed media ACEO auction
Was hoping I would get a second wind by now, but it's just not happening. But, one last thing before I go to bed- my friend Jenny has written a digital tag tutorial...She even made me my very own tag, featuring my Hot Cocoa jester! I just love it, thank you Jenny! There is a lot of useful info there, so please check out her blog at the link below:
Through OUr Dreamz"- Jenny's blog tutorial
Here's the tag she made for me!
So...now I am going to bed! Night all!

Hi Hi!
So, I have finally found some time to post a blog! Yay! This weekend was crazy busy, and also the weather was super beautiful, so I was outside for most of it :)
I've got just two new pieces to share tonight- one dragon and one really nifty fiber art book...
This fiber art book is an amalgamation of a bunch of supplies I sis not want to throw out- but I swear to you it is not garbage! I had a bunch of two inch squares of primed canvas- trimmings from larger sheets that were so smoothly gessoed that I just couldn't get rid of them...So, I painted a bunch of two inch paintings instead! This book is in a bluebird theme- four original cartoon bluebird paintings are hand sewn onto raw pieces of canvas; I've also added a hand painted bluebird patch for the front cover, and a chipboard skeleton key on the back...
This piece is ACEO sized (2.5" x 3.5")...embarrassingly "shabby chic" in style *shudder shudder* but still beautiful. To see loads of pictures and perhaps even adopt it into your home, please follow the link below the picture:
"Bluebird Fiber Art Book"
Also new tonight is another dragon ACEO original- "Rose Petal" is a little pink dragon (hence the name)...I do not normally work in pink, as it is not one of my favorite colors, but...I thought "what the hey"...So, to make up for the girly color, I gave him a crabby look, heh heh. He is up on eBay for a $5.00 starting bid, and free shipping- to see the listing details and perhaps make a bid, please follow the link below the picture:
"Rose Petal" dragon fantasy ACEO
There is a lot more of my dragon art at reasonable prices on eBay this week- to see them all, just click here!
I am still slowly working on my latest Cartoon Aquarium piece- an octopus, he's weird and cute. Tomorrow looks like it's packed from dawn til dusk with running around, so I don't know when I'll get to finish him...I think it's going to be a long and ridiculously busy week. I'm getting a little tired just thinking about it :)...I better get to bed early tonight.

Happy Friday!
Well, I have gotten a good portion of the way through my website gallery updating, but I took a little break to write and post this :) Two brand new dragon pieces tonight, one "Inkling" and one ACEO...
This new ACEO is titled "Brightness"- a purple dragon with big, bright eyes, silently imploring you to smile :D Okay, yes, I am a dork. This is an original painting, measuring 2.5" x 3.5" (acrylics on canvas). "Brightness" is up for auction tonight, starting at just $5 with free shipping! To see the auction details and perhaps make a bid, please follow the link below the picture:

The other dragon painting is the next piece in my "Inkling" sub-series- "Inkling 2- Phosphorescence" features two little dragons overlooking a weird glowing light. This original painting measures 7" x 5" (also acrylics on canvas) and is listed in my darklingemily etsy shop. To see details and such, please follow the link below the picture:

Hi!
I have a whole bunch of new paintings tonight- most of them are dragons, though there is one new Cartoon Aquarium piece as well!
I will begin with the "odd man out"- my latest Cartoon Aquarium painting :) This is "Squee"- he is a red seahorse, super silly, and ready for a new home! To read his little blurb and see detail pictures, please follow the link below the picture:
"Squee" Cartoon Aquarium Seahorse painting
Now, on to the dragons! I have begun a sub-series of dragons in strange, otherworldy landscapes. I am calling this series "Inklings"- each background is painted before I have any inkling of which Emily dragon will have the best personality to suit it. You can look forward to lots of drips, splatters, layers, and abstractedness from this series! Allow me to unveil the first in the series- "Inkling 1- Falling Sky". This is an original 5" x 7" acrylic painting on a sheet of canvas. It is listed for purchase in my darklingemily etsy shop. To read the little story I've written for this painting and see detail pictures, please follow the link below the picture:

These next two dragons are both ACEOs- I listed them the other night, so some of you may have seen them already ;)...The first is "Hunter"- a tiny flying dragon, gracefully silhouetted against a blue purple sky. This is an original acrylic painting on canvas, in ACEO format (2.5" x 3.5"). Listed at a $5 starting bid, with free shipping too- you can see more details of the art and auction at the link below the picture:

The other new ACEO I have up on eBay is a cutie! A little green dragon with big, wide eyes...very adorable. His name is "Moss", and he is an original acrylic painting on canvas. Also up with a $5 starting bid and free shipping! Check out the link below the picture:
"Moss" original big eye dragon ACEO auction
By the end of this week, I should have some new art up in my website galleries, and also some more art to share :) At the moment, I am trying to decide on whether to watch a movie, or go back to my desk and get some more painting done...Decisions, decisions.

I had a rather bland day today- mostly paperwork and stuff, with a bit of brainstorming and sketching along the way- very boring. But, I do have a rather exciting new zombie painting to show off!!
These are the latest flesh eating monsters! This painting is one of my favorites- it kinda freaks me out. I call it "Private Party"- it is a 14" x 11" acrylic painting on a sheet of canvas- it will need a frame. To see details and perhaps even own the original, please follow the link below the picture:
"Private Party" original zombie painting
Also new in zombie art news- prints and posters of my "A Bad Approach" zombie farm house attack painting are now available through my zazzle shop:

If you should happen to be interested in owning the original painting, it is here in my zombietoes shop.
Now, on to something a bit less frightening: the original "Water Dragon" painting is now up for auction on eBay! This piece is part of my dragon mini series on the elements. It also happens to be one of my personal favorites. "Water Dragon" is an original 8" x 10" acrylic painting (on a canvas panel). It is up with a starting bid of $35, and shipping is free! To see the listing and make your bid, please follow the link below the picture:

Now, I am gonna get all ambitious and try to make some cookies. I really want them, but I dont want to make them, but I can't have them if I dont make them...It's a vicious cycle that really makes one weigh the importance of junkfood vs laziness.

Good Evening!
This post won't be too long- I am super tired and ready to settle in for the night. Before I do that, I have two new dragon paintings to share!
The first new painting is titled simply "Rainbow", and features eight dragons! One in six colors of the rainbow (I left out indigo...) and two white ones! Again, this is an original acrylic painting, 12" x 9.75" on a sheet of canvas. It is up in my darklingemily etsy shop, if you would like to see detail pictures and such:
"Rainbow" original dragon painting
Also new in my darklingemily shop is a smaller original painting. "Candle Light" measures 5" x 7" (acrylic on canvas panel)- the flame of this candle is actually a tiny dragon! To see the detail pictures, please follow the link below the picture:
"Candle Light" original dragon painting
That's all for now. Please accept my sleepy apologies about being so unentertaining. I've been painting my butt off; later this week I will have more cool art to share!

I just spent a long time plotting out my schedule for the next few months...If I don't write it down, I tend to get lazy...so, now my life revolves around what my dayplanner says...Pathetic, I know. But at least I am using the dern planner...LOL!
Anyhoo, I have some brand new paintings to show you all tonight! Finally! This first one is "Dusk"- a dusty yellow dragon perched in the trees at sundown...I really like how it turned out :) He is an original 10" x 8" acrylic painting (on a canvas panel) and he is currently being housed in my darklingemily etsy shop...Free shipping on this bad boy! Yay! To read his little blurb, see detail pictures, and perhaps even adopt him into your home, please follow the link below the photo:
"Dusk" big eye dragon fantasy art original
Also brand new from me is this smaller fantasy painting- this one is titled "Out of the Blue" because that's pretty much where it came from (as with most of my art hee hee!). This is a smaller piece, at 5" x 7", and features a light blue speckled dragon that this cute-but-shadowy angel girl has conjured up...I wish I could just conjure up dragons out of nowhere, for realsies, but I will have to settle for just painting them, I suppose :)
This new painting is up for auction on eBay tonight, starting at a stupid-low bid of $15, with free shipping, too! To see the details and read the little story, please follow the link below the picture:
"Out of the Blue" Original Angel and Dragon big eye art
What's with all the blue, you say? Well, I have been feeling kinda blah the last two weeks, so I guess it shows in my color choice LOL! It's a good thing painting makes me feel better, or I would be up shit's creek right about now. I know things will get better, because I just have to have faith in that, but...damn, sometimes I get really impatient. It's hard work lifting one's own spirits sometimes. Once they are up, though, they usually *stay* up, but that has not been the case as of late. I suppose in my impatience, I have cultivated a bit of frustration, making me just a little bit bratty...
Of course, being an "artist", I am pulled into filtering through these strange and unweildy things called "emotions" through my creations...So, needless to say, I have been working on a lot of zombie-related items in the background. Some of which will be part of a larger project...That, of course, does not help with the impatience factor, but...Zombies always make me smile. I honestly don't know what I would do without them! And speaking of...I'd better get back to them, or they might come alive and end all my emo B.S. by turning me into one of them...but hey, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em...right?
