This is going to be a rather dragon-y post :) I thought I'd give the clowns a short break, though I am sure they will be back very very soon! I have a brand new dragon painting to share, as well as a new Facebook exclusive auction (also dragon-related!)

Most of my dragons are friendly creatures, though at times they can cause quite a bit of trouble, as dragons are prone to do. However, I happened to summon this angry little beastie the other day...I know he is not the most, uh, jovial creature, but perhaps you would consider adopting him just the same? Holy crap...
I've been staring at this stupid computer screen nearly all day, I can barely take it anymore! LOL! But I wanted to leave you all with a blog post before the holiday ;) Besides, I have a brand new painting to show off, and a special zombie original painting auction, too! And, as you may have surmised form the title of this post, plus my crabbing, I have also managed to update my website...
So, this latest painting is part of my "Little Things" series (yeah, I broke down and just decided to call it that, harumph.) This piece is "The View From November" and features a beautiful dark haired lady with a monocle-type device...a tiny owl is nestled on her hair comb, and the bare November trees are wailing...I really love this piece, I hope she finds a good home! This is an original 8" x 10" acrylic painting on a canvas panel; wire hanger on the back. Good evening all!
So...I pretty much did eff-all this week. Okay, that is not true, but as far as art goes, I didn't make a whole heck of a lot. Been getting the gardens ready for winter, potting plants for indoors, working, filling orders, and trying not to fall asleep too early...Most nights I don't succeed at that last one.
I had a blast at the zombie pub crawl :) Got wasted and met a lot of zombies! I will have some pictures soon(ish) to share...But, seriously, this is why I don't go out all that often- because I have waaay too much fun, then it takes me two days or so to get back all my energy and bearings. So...I don't think I will be going out for Halloween. I will be working and then working some more.
I do have a few new pieces to share tonight- new ACEOs! The first is another Circus & Side Show piece- yes, they are still going strong! So, yes, I've been at my real job pretty much all week. I am very very glad to have a job. However, I am beginning to resent ALL THE HOURS I SPEND THERE. I love my crew. I hate pizza. I hate the mall. I hate not having time/energy to do all the things I want to when I get home. I wish I could just cut sleep out of my schedule entirely; that would solve a bunch of my troubles. Except, of course, for being tired all the time.

This is gonna be a pretty lame post, because I am exhausted and have a bit of a headache. Too much sun, not enough water, too much worrying, not enough relaxing. Ah, life.

So, yes, I am not feeling 100% today. I haven't been feeling all that great for a few days now, but am trying to muddle through. Almost done writing, then to illustrate, format, and so forth until I am pleased with the finished product. Of course, I will still be listing regular eBay auctions, though they will mostly be ACEOs...I have no idea when I will get to my next jester,or a new zodiac dragon, or anything else for that matter...*Sigh* I need more hours in the day. I need more days in the week. I am not going to be acquiring either of those things any time soon...

I have finished up my latest jester- she is Ice Cream themed- though I have yet to scan her in and get prints posted for sale. I will try my very best to get her up ASAP! She's very cute- a black haired harlequin, dreaming of ice cream cones :) Now I am pondering my next jester, and also the next addition to my Dragon Zodiac series (thinking about Taurus)...Also, working on getting more zombie limericks written for the compilation book...I wrote 18 of them last week, and thought with the other 27 plus illustrations that would be sufficient. However, I have since chosen to put a whole bunch more into the compilation book, so...Looks like I have my work cut out for me! Even though they are just silly little rhymes, it is actually rather difficult to make them work just right, and also make them funny (which, in my mind, is the cornerstone of any good limerick). At this point, I am afraid that I will run out of ideas. :( So...I might have to restock my Netflix list with LOTS and LOTS of "research material" aka zombie movies LOL!!

I have been busting arse lately, and so far, so good...I haven't burnt out...yet! LOL! Of course, my garden is suffering *just a little bit* with all the time I have not put into it this week, however...other things must be taken care of. I will be working while hopefully writing some new zombie limericks in my head ;) It is way beyond time for volume #4...I am also considering putting ALL of the limericks and illustrations into one book...But that is still a ways off, as I would like to get some more written especially for the combined collection ;)

I know, it's been another week...:\ The truth is, I have been very very busy, so I have barely had time to make any art, much less list or post it...But, I do have two new pieces to share tonight, though they are just little ACEOs!

Oh...May is over! Crap!
I feel like I should have been far more productive this month. I'm blaming it on the fact that I've spent a lot of time tending to the gardens. I didn't even update my website galleries this month! I suck! Well, I suppose it can wait til June, and there will just be a lot more new art up there!
So, I do have some eBay auctions going on now- most of them are ACEO originals, though there is also one original dragon painting (7" x 5"). Each ACEO has a starting bid of just 99 cents, and some of them only have a day or two left! My motivation to get new art out of my sketchbook and onto canvas/paper has been somewhat low lately- not that I don't LOVE to create, but I do feel some interesting changes coming on, as far as my art goes. I've been in more of a pen and ink mood, and cartoons, too, and have been puttering around with some new Ralphie stuff, and some other cartoon creatures :) Very few final projects though. :\ However, I do have one brand new painting up in my darklingemily etsy shop! This piece is titled "Lurking Dawn" (thanks to Rebecca Brown Martinez for the title- you can check out her etsy shop here- TCsoApCo!)- a dragon perched on some strange plant, in my silhouette style...It is an original 11" x 14" acrylic painting, on gallery wrapped canvas (sides are 3/4" and painted black)- so it is ready to hang! One last important tidbit of info before I go...This Saturday, June 5, I will be out IN PERSON selling my art and other assorted goodies (prints, bookmarks, ACEOs, etc)...I will be at the Spring Craft Fair, located at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Hadley, MA. The fair runs from 8am to 2pm, and there will be vendors of all sorts, a plant sale/swap, pancakes, and a giant tag sale! I will be outside, at a small table loaded with my paintings and such, so come on by and see me! And bring all your filthy rich friends who love art LOL!! Let me see...I've got the latest zodiac dragon to share today, along with two new mermaids! I've been in a bit of a mermaid mood lately, if you couldn't tell! :)
First, though, allow me to unveil the "Gemini Dragon" illustration! A two headed, double winged, dual colored dragon, with big purple eyes! I'm very pleased with how this particular beast turned out- it was a bit of a challenge to put two heads on one body! A very special friend was the inspiration for the purple eyes- gothic and fantasy artisan Natalie VonRaven (who happens to be a Gemini herself)! I realized that the vast majority of my mermaid art is ocean based, and wanted to create a mermaid that could potentially be found in the middle of the forest!
