Majea Returns fantasy art, Bearded Lady circus ACEO, 99 cent print auctions, PSP tube contest, + more!

Oh, another week gone by with only one blog post! How is this continuing to happen?!? You must accept my heartfelt apologies. I feel so bad.

At any rate, I do have some new art to share, some new 99 cent ACEO Print auctions running, a contest, and reminder to get your bids in on my FB exclusive auction...it ends tomorrow!

As always, I will begin with the new art! I have a brand new fantasy ACEO original up for auction on eBay- "Majea Returns"...Majea is a character I created years ago, and she happened to pop back into my life recently, unannounced, and a little mad at me for forgetting all about her. I promised her I'd make amends, so...she is being included in my secret project. Which makes this ACEO auction extra special for collectors! "Majea Returns" has a $5 starting bid; to see the auction listing, and perhaps make a bid, just click on the link below her picture:

Also brand new, and original, is my latest in the Circus & Side Show series- the Bearded Lady! This original 2.5" x 3.5" illustration is created in archival inks and acrylic paints on bristol. She is also up for auction on eBay, with a starting bid of just $5! To see her listing, read more about her, and make a bid, just visit the link below her picture:

And, as always, a handful of 99 cent ACEO Print auctions are also listed, for your enjoyment...you can see them all here:

Now, a friendly reminder that my Facebook exclusive auction- for an original 16 page mini art journal, all filled up with original, one of a kind art work and writing- is ending TOMORROW (Thursday) night at midnight (EST)!! If you want to know more about the book and/or make a bid, please visit this link:
Mini Art Journal auction, exclusively on Facebook!

If you are not already a fan of my page there, you will have to fan/like it in order to make your bid...The next auction will be going up either right after this one ends, or sometime on Friday...and a preview-hint, the new auction is a small collection of Ralphie goodies! For those of you who are not familiar with Ralphie, he is my adorable, silly, comforting little cartoon bird character...here's a picture of him in one of his many forms:

Oh, yes, and the good folks over at MyTagArt are having their 1st birthday!! Complete with many contests, freebies, and prizes! If you are interested in getting some awesome goodies, you will have to join thier forum, but it is quick, painless, and free of course! They are running a bunch of different contests, with assorted prizes, but there is one specifically designed for me, and the grand prize is an original 8" x 10" dragon painting by yours truly! Once you are a forum member, you can sign in and view the page for the contest here:

What else what else...Sorry to bog y'all down with all this new stuff. This is why I feel bad about not having more time to post during the week. Oh! Yes! I have (finally) updated my website- darklingtreasures.com with a bunch of new images (all are available as prints/posters) in the galleries, and have even created a brand new gallery for my circus art! In doing the latest updates, I was realizing that my website does need a lot of touching up and reorganizing...so that will be happening over the next few months. Goodbye sleep, hello working to the bone! ahahahahahaha...and, as you can see, the delirium has already begun to set in...
But no worries, I will be fine. I'd rather be eyeball deep in projects than bored silly.

xo!

Mermaid + Angler Fish ACEO, Ralphie cartoon bird ACEO, Raven 12 painting auction, + Fun Zazzle Stuff!

WAAAZZUUPP!!

Hee hee, can you tell I am psyched to have time to make art? I thought I'd better take a quick break and get this blog posted, as it's been awhile...

I do have a few new auctions (two new ACEO originals, and an older Raven painting), plus some nifty new Zazzle products to share!

New aCEOs...These are both listed for auction on eBay, both with starting bids of just 99 cents...:) "Two Ralphie Birds" is a 2.5" x 3.5" ORIGINAL ACEO; Ralphie is one of my very favorite characters, cooked up in a sketch book session! I've generously squeezed TWO little Ralphies into this piece, for your smiling pleasure. More info and details at the listing- the link is below the picture:

The other new ACEO I've just listed is titled "Reading Lamp"- a deep sea mermaid gets a little help from her angelr fish friends as she tries to read her treasure map in the darkness of the ocean...I really like how the colors came out in this piece; for awhile, it looked rather dodgy, but I just kept painting on it until I was satisfied :) Again, more details and info are at the listing- visit the link below the picture for more:

Also newly listed (for auction) is my original "Raven 12" bird painting- this is an 8" x 10" acrylic piece, on canvas board...I've started the bidding at a low $20- the regular listing price for this piece is $55, so this could potentially be a very good deal for some lucky raven lover...;) To see more info and details about this painting, just check out the link below the picture:

Of course, there are some other art auctions up that are ending soon (anywhere from 1-3 days)...To see ALL my auctions on one page, just click here!

So...I've been messing around with my endless pictures while I have my coffee in the mornings, and have created a bunch of new, fun Zazzle products! Something of interest (to me, anyway) are these photo sculpture things...Currently, there are two different ones, made from my "Sunny" mermaid illustration, as well as from my "Inkling 1- Falling Sky" painting. The coolest thing about these photo sculptures is that you can have them made in a variety of ways- magnets, ornaments, pins, wall hangings, or stand alone sculptures. You can see them individually by clicking the links below their pictures:

There are also a few new T shirt designs, a new dragon coffee mug, and stickers...woo hoo! www.zazzle.com/darklingemily

I feel like I haven't been very entertaining for all of you lately, and I must apologize for that (founded in reality or not)...I am still getting used to my new, very busy schedule. In time, I hope to be "back to normal"...whatever that is. Normal for me. Which is a stretch. ;) But for now, I'm going to go make some more art, while I have the time!!

Little Blue Bird Paintings and black Dragon Art

EEE! I seem to have finally come out of my slump- of course, it's only been 4 days or so, but i t was the longest 4 days I've had in quite some time...I basically did a bunch of spring cleaning, paper work, sketching, and a little moping here and there- read part of a book, watched some movies...Though there is always a ton of stuff I can find to fill my day, I never feel right when I can't make art...But I do know enough to not try to force it out, I just have to let the creative cycle do its thing.

At any rate, I have three brand new, original ACEOs up for auction tonight! I thought I'd start off small (size wise) and work into some bigger pieces...The new ACEOs are up on eBay, each with a starting bid of just $5 (and free shipping on all!). Again, these are ALL original paintings, done in acrylics on ACEO sized (2.5" x 3.5") pieces of canvas. You can find the links to each auction under their respective pictures, or to see them all on one page, click here! In no particular order, they are:

"Blue Bird 1" original cartoon ACEO

"Blue Bird 2" original cartoon ACEO

"Grey Day" original dragon ACEO

I do have a few more, but decided not to list those at the moment...did not want it to get overwhelming! Seeing as there's not much to ramble about tonight, I suppose I will be headed back to my desk to get a bit more painting done...

Raven 15 Painting and Funny Bunny ACEO originals!

Only a few pieces to share tonight- yet another raven, and two silly little bunny ACEOs...perhaps a bit of rambling, too...

So, I suppose I will start with the latest raven piece :) This is "Raven 15"- a solitary bird on a tan and blue swirly backdrop...I love these colors together! It is an original painting, measuring 7" x 5" on a sheet of canvas...Up in my darklingemily etsy shop (at sale price until the end of the month) with free shipping! The link to see details/purchase is below the picture, as usual:

"Raven 15" original painting

What of Raven 14, you ask? Well, it is a commission piece, but if you would like to see it, there is a link here: "Raven 14". Please note- this is a reserved listing, so unless you are the person for whom it is reserved, please do not purchase this piece; thanks for your understanding.

Also new tonight- Funny Bunnies! I woke up from a slew of terrible dreams and a fitful night's rest this morning, and was not particularly feeling like being pulled in any direction suitable for "the grind"...so I just took it easy and messed around in my sketchbook. Normally, when I am feeling crappy, it comes out as crappy in my art...or at the very least, very dark and brooding. But I really just wanted to be happy, so I forced myself to cheer up by doodling little cartoons...and I came up with these sweet and weird little bunnies! Needless to say, they have already grown into a small series...There are two original "Funny Bunny" ACEOs listed on eBay (in auction format, $5 starting bids)...Each one is illustrated in archival inks and acrylic paint on a scrap piece of vintage book page...Here are the first two:

"Funny Bunny 1" original ACEO

"Funny Bunny 2" original ACEO

As of right this minute, I have no real concept of what tomorrow will bring, as far as art goes. I am nearly finished with my latest commission, which will most likely be completed tomorrow...But other than that, I haven't a clue. I am looking over all these recent series of art and thinking to myself "Damn, this is all so random. The styles are so different...yet they all come from my head." I know, from a professional perspective, it is not a good idea to be so all over the place with my style. I should just stick to one thing and get really good at it. Right? Sure. But...Eff that! I know I'd get bored and stop making art, should I choose to stick with one style. So, in lieu of coming off as a professional and turning my art from passion into "work", I choose to make art for me first, and if anyone else should happen to like it, that's super awesome. It really does make me all warm and fuzzy inside when my work speaks to others. Besides, I am not just one thing. Why should my art be?

That is my ramble for the night. Sometimes, my logical side really gets on my nerves. It helps to shut her up by writing. "Shut up you! Back to your corner! Don't you have paperwork to fill out or something?!" Heh heh heh...No, do not worry, I have not lost my mind. I just spend a little too much time alone with myself. Perhaps it is time to get a part time job, just to have some human interaction on a fairly regular basis...My cat is just not cutting it anymore. :D
