Almost the weekend...:D
In this post, there is a brand new jester, a new zombie painting, and the last two Funny Bunny ACEOs (for the time being). Also, here is a reminder that my darklingemily etsy shop anniversary sale is only going on for another few days!
Okay- fair warning- this new jester is partially nude, and you can see her nips, so if you are uncomfortable with that, don't read this post...:D This is "Fresh Fig"- she is awfully cute, and naked, too! woo hoo! Plus, figs, of course! I am hanging on to the original for now, but if you like her enough to want a limited edition print, they are listed in my etsy shop- the link is below the picture:

For ACEOs, I have number 5 in the "Funny Bunny" art cards series listed on eBay. This is an original illustration in archival inks and acrylic paint over scraps of vintage book pages...The auction starts at a $5 bid, and shipping is free as usual. To see the listing, please follow the link below the picture:

Last, but not least, is my latest zombie painting! I did not care for it when I first started it, but with enough layers of paint, I have come to like it very much. :) I call it "A Bad Approach"- it is an original acrylic painting, measuring 10" x 7" on a sheet of canvas. It is up in my zombietoes shop- to see the detail pictures and read the blurb, please follow the link below the picture:

I've also been working on some other zombie things, but they are not quite ready yet ;) so...back to the drawing table I go!

Hello!
So, tonight's art goodies are a bit random (though that seems to be my M.O. lately)...I've got a new addition to the Cartoon Aquarium, some new Funny Bunny ACEOs, and one more raven to share!
I know I've busted out a whole slew of raven paintings over the past few weeks- I just love the ravens, they fly right into my head and then right out again, onto canvas. It's a very seamless process, something I am quite thankful for. It's the closest I've ever come to "Art efficiency" heh heh. The hardest part is waiting for one layer to dry before starting on the next layer...
At any rate, here is the latest rave- "Raven 16" features two snuggled birds in a bare birch tree...I like this piece a lot, it seems very quiet, like a fresh-snow walk in the woods on a Tuesday morning when the rest of the world is at work or school...Ah, the quaint pleasures of having my own schedule! I'm rambling again...This piece is an original 5" x 7" acrylic painting on a sheet of canvas. It was listed for sale earlier in the day, but it has already sold! You can still see the picture here:

Next, I have a BRAND NEW Cartoon Aquarium painting! It's been awhile since my last C.A. piece, and I nearly forgot how much I love painting all the strangeness in the ocean! This round, I have a small 8" x 6" acrylic painting of three spiny urchins amongst colorful coral and seaweed. I have allowed my inner child to title this one, as I do most of them- "Three Sea Pricklies" is the name- it is available through my zombietoes etsy shop... The link is below the picture:

On eBay this evening I have listed the next two "Funny Bunny" ACEOs- #3 and 4! These are little original mixed media art cards (measuring 2.5" x 3.5", or landscape at 3.5" x 2.5"). They are created in archival inks and colored with acrylic paints over a scrap of vintage book page (from an old sewing manual). I made them because, well, I was feeling poopy the other day and needed to get myself out of the poop-rut. They are simply for smiling purposes. Each Funny Bunny ACEO is listed at a $5 starting bid, with free shipping! To see the latest, please follow the links below their pictures:

Now, I best be off to my desk- finishing up my latest jester, working on a new dragon painting, and some zombies, too!

Only a few pieces to share tonight- yet another raven, and two silly little bunny ACEOs...perhaps a bit of rambling, too...
So, I suppose I will start with the latest raven piece :) This is "Raven 15"- a solitary bird on a tan and blue swirly backdrop...I love these colors together! It is an original painting, measuring 7" x 5" on a sheet of canvas...Up in my darklingemily etsy shop (at sale price until the end of the month) with free shipping! The link to see details/purchase is below the picture, as usual:

What of Raven 14, you ask? Well, it is a commission piece, but if you would like to see it, there is a link here: "Raven 14". Please note- this is a reserved listing, so unless you are the person for whom it is reserved, please do not purchase this piece; thanks for your understanding.
Also new tonight- Funny Bunnies! I woke up from a slew of terrible dreams and a fitful night's rest this morning, and was not particularly feeling like being pulled in any direction suitable for "the grind"...so I just took it easy and messed around in my sketchbook. Normally, when I am feeling crappy, it comes out as crappy in my art...or at the very least, very dark and brooding. But I really just wanted to be happy, so I forced myself to cheer up by doodling little cartoons...and I came up with these sweet and weird little bunnies! Needless to say, they have already grown into a small series...There are two original "Funny Bunny" ACEOs listed on eBay (in auction format, $5 starting bids)...Each one is illustrated in archival inks and acrylic paint on a scrap piece of vintage book page...Here are the first two:

As of right this minute, I have no real concept of what tomorrow will bring, as far as art goes. I am nearly finished with my latest commission, which will most likely be completed tomorrow...But other than that, I haven't a clue. I am looking over all these recent series of art and thinking to myself "Damn, this is all so random. The styles are so different...yet they all come from my head." I know, from a professional perspective, it is not a good idea to be so all over the place with my style. I should just stick to one thing and get really good at it. Right? Sure. But...Eff that! I know I'd get bored and stop making art, should I choose to stick with one style. So, in lieu of coming off as a professional and turning my art from passion into "work", I choose to make art for me first, and if anyone else should happen to like it, that's super awesome. It really does make me all warm and fuzzy inside when my work speaks to others. Besides, I am not just one thing. Why should my art be?
That is my ramble for the night. Sometimes, my logical side really gets on my nerves. It helps to shut her up by writing. "Shut up you! Back to your corner! Don't you have paperwork to fill out or something?!" Heh heh heh...No, do not worry, I have not lost my mind. I just spend a little too much time alone with myself. Perhaps it is time to get a part time job, just to have some human interaction on a fairly regular basis...My cat is just not cutting it anymore. :D
