Well hi!
So...I have three brand new pieces! I know, right after I say I am going to slow my creative process for Darkling Treasures ;| I just needed some good ART time, so I X-ed out all of Tuesday and just MADE STUFF. This stuff is mad lowbrow and adorable, plus I finished up one of my pin up paintings!
All three of these new pieces are listed for auction- on my Darkling Treasures Facebook Page! This is because I am going out of town for most of next week, and will have much more control over my auctions this way. So, let me show off the new art, then:

Now...monsters! I am probably waay too into these little guys. What can I say? They make me smile, I love cartoons, they suit my lowbrow lifestyle, and...wait, I don't have to justify anything! haha! Now, this little monster is named "Mish"- he is a hybrid jellyfish-bird-rabbit, and he is very sentimental to me, so I am kind of having a hard time putting him up for sale. FYI. These three Facebook auctions will run until Friday, February 24th at 11pm EST. I will be home then to end them and get them sent out to their new homes, should they find them :)
This leads me into ordering information for the next week...I will be visiting family in Georgia from 2-19 to 2-23, and will be away from my studio/stockpiles/printer/stamps and envelopes...thus unable to ship anything out until my return. For current outstanding orders: all eBay auctions (I believe) will end before I leave, so if you win something(s) and would like me to ship out your art before I go, payments MUST be made by, mmm, like 8pm EST this Saturday! This way I can get everything packaged and drop them in a mailbox on my way to the airport. Both of my etsy shops will go into vacation mode on Saturday evening until I return, and the listings wont show up. As for my website, orders will be filled and shipped upon my return. I should be around a computer on and off during my trip, so I will be able to check in, possibly answer emails, maybe post some stuff...But mostly I will be on break.

So...I am a little bit sleepy today, because I had a bit of a coffee fiasco this morning...Looking back, I'm glad that I was able, at least, to fend off a caffeine headache, but I did have to take a short afternoon nap!
I have (surpise surprise) some new art this evening! Well, there is one new piece, and two older pieces ;)

A dark purple dragon, with big, wide eyes, and feathery black wings, stares at a raven who has perched on his tail. So...other than the coffee incident, it was a pretty uneventful day. Went to the grocery store (woo hoo) and when I got home, I had a slew of ideas running around in my head, so I got most of those sketched out...Tomorrow, I am dog sitting and weeding gardens all afternoon, but I do have plans to get the remainder of my zodiac dragons sketched out, and then hopefully get one started for real- at the moment, I am leaning towards Gemini, as that one is already fleshed out in my journal.

So, I have not been as prolific as I am accustomed to being, which is causing me slight anxiety; however I have still managed to get two pieces completed this week :D They are both mermaid-related, both in mixed media on bristol.
The first new one I will introduce is "Sunny"- she is a pretty blond mermaid, with a very rainbow-y tail! I created this piece simply to make me smile. I've also snuck in three little goldfish and a purple seahorse, as I find that mermaids like to have some friends around them :) "Sunny" is an original mixed media illustration (acrylic paints, colored pencils, and archival inks) measuring 5" x 7" on bristol. So...this next piece is very...interesting. It was truly a whim that I just sketched out right away, without any thought to whether or not I should be persuing it with color...Which I did anyway! LOL! Of course, this particular piece has invaded my common sense, and has triggered a number of other images that will eventually become a small series- sports that aren't really sports, featuring assorted fantasy creatures and characters. I've already begun working on the next illustration in the series- the wet t shirt fairy. Yes, it's fresh and rude, and no, I do not care. I'm drawing it. So there. :P And with that said, I think it might be time to get back to her, seeing as I might as well take advantage of this motivation while it's here!

"Scorpio Dragon" is the latest illustration in my astrological dragons series...I've given this dragon royal purple and maroon segmented armor (much like the scorpion next to the glyph for Scorpio)...Also featured in this piece is the ruling planet for this sign- Pluto...And I don't care what's what, I personally still consider Pluto to be a planet. Other than gardening and emotionally cleaning house, I am slowly working on a mermaid illustration...it's a little bit different than my usual stuff, but I thought it was a novel idea at the time...Since I *still* think it's pretty funny, I will share with you all that it is two mermaids mudwrestling. Seeing as I have very little experience with drawing action, this should turn out...interesting. I will try to do the idea justice. Thus, I will be taking my sweet, sweet time on this one. If it turns out poorly...I'll post it, but not for sale ;) At any rate, I am off to get some work done on that :) Have a good night!

Apart from my current "climbing-out-of-a-rut" state, I have some new art to share...A brand new jester pin up, a little fairy ACEO painting, and another older collage piece, too!
First, the newest jester(ess)! I have a weak spot for all kinds of sorbet, raspberry in particular, so I thought I'd give a shout out to one of my favorite desserts with a pin up :) The title for this one is simply "Raspberry Sorbet" as I have not been feeling all that clever or witty of late...But at least it brings Prince's song to mind. She is a beautiful blond jester, sensually spooning a frozen scoop of raspberry sorbet into her mouth. She's even got a raspberry tattoo! So, as aforementioned, I am working my way out of a bit of a funk. It is not so much an inspiration problem as a motivational one- something I am not very familiar with and prefer not to be- ever. The pictures pile up in my head and in my numerous sketch books, but I seem to be having trouble getting them generated into actual art. I am blaming the beautiful weather and my multitude of work to get done in the gardens...Lots of yardwork to do, good stuff, but tiring! But for now, I am off to motivate and get my latest dragon painting worked on a bit more- there are work in progress photos up in my album on Facebook here if you would like to come by and see :)

So, been working on finishing up the final custom painting from my recent giveaway. It is a Wonderland themed piece, featuring the Cheshire Cat offering Alice some growth-inducing cookies!
