Didn't mean to drop off the face of the blogosphere, but...life happened. I do have some work in progress pictures of the "Dutchess" re-paint for you! Also, some MORE updates, yeesh...
So, this is the original illustration of "Dutchess":
There is ONE ACEO print of this version of "Dutchess" left, up for auction HERE on eBay! I will also be including an ACEO print of this version with the NEW PAINTING ;)
She was originally a little ACEO piece, but NOW she is becoming a large 11" x 14" painting!! Complete with my messy ink look!! A few progress shots for you:
As of this blog post, she is complete, and I should be listing her on eBay sometime in the next few days (I will have a seperate post for that!), barring any severe craziness (I may have just cursed myself there...)

Now, quick updates:
First, I have gone ahead and revamped my eBay listing template- Nothing intense, I just wanted it to look more like my website :) So, for those of you who have noticed the change, and were possibly wondering what was going on with that- yes, it is still lil ol me! We are not attaching ourselves to EBSQ anymore, which leads me into update #2:
I will be removing my art from EBSQ- it's a long and slightly poopy story, but let's just say I don't like to pay for services that are not provided, and we'll leave it at that. I will be moving over to deviantart.com- slowly...very slowly. I have decided, for reasons related to sanity, to retire MOST OF MY ART. I know, that's a LOT of art to retire. What I mean when I say "retire"- I mean, no more prints. I DO NOT MEAN relinquishing my copyrights. I do not mean throwing my art in the garbage (maybe a few pieces). I will be 'curating' the works of mine that I have chosen to NOT retire...things will be set up a bit differently. I want to organize them into "stories" or "similar voices" or...eh, it's hard to explain. So that will take a bit of thinking on my part (dang, I can't ever escape the thinking!!!) I will certainly keep you posted!!
The print set up for all my new pieces (beginning with "Fool's Blood") will also be a bit different...I've been pondering the limited edition vs open edition point. I just realized, I have probably bored you to tears with this. This is probably what I am thinking about when you are talking to me in person and I have a glazed look on my face...Or maybe I actually look like I am listening to you? I have very little idea what is going on outside my inner world, and my studio, lately. I hope that I have been decent enough to you that you would naturally have a touch of patience for me at this time :)

Well, I skipped last week's post entirely...:\ Got all distracted with things and stuff, you know, the usual...But I have new (and very special) art to share today! The Nurse Mermaid piece I have been talking about has been completed and listed for auction, plus I have some cute monster wallets I sewed up last week! AND MORE PILLOWS!! :D
I will start with the mermaid piece- She is titled "Nurse Mermaid" and is shown here caring for two nurse sharks! I created this piece specifically to auction off for a donation to my dear friend Becca, who had some recent and unexpected financial issues (health related). I love her SO MUCH and unfortunately am in no position other than auctioning off art to help her. And sending her lots of love and support, of course! The original "Nurse Mermaid" is a mixed media creation, partially an illustration, partially a painting! You can read all about her and the details of the art at the auction link below:

NOW...Awhile back I posted some pictures of the Monster Bag I made for myself...and I LOVE IT SO MUCH! It is holding up really well (and trust me, I USE my bags), and also getting a lot of comments...so I decided to make up a few small wallet versions to offer to you! There are three right now- a red one, a blue one, and a purple one, and they are SO ADORABLE!! Top zipper closure, fun inside linings, credit card pockets, a little pocket for change... Well, I have kind of a lot of stuff to share today, so please bare with me here :)...New Zazzle products, an ACEO auction, a brand new jester, and a new raven too!
I know I am not the best about sharing the latest from my Zazzle shop, but I have a few new things up there now, so I thought I'd post those! My "Ladybug Dragons" are now available as greeting cards; they are blank on the inside, but you can add your own greeting in any available font that Zazzle has before you order them! How about some brand new art? Yay! I will begin with what's new in my darklingemily etsy shop! Number one- a brand new jester pin up! She is titled "Cherry's Jubilee" (many thanks to my friend Megan for coming up with the title!)- Cherry is looking pretty shocked and happy about these oversized cherries right next to her...She is available as a limited edition 8" x 10" art print (there are only 25 in the edition) at the link below:

I've also snuck in some time to get a new raven painted :) I just love these birds, and I could seriously paint them forever; if it weren't for my vast interest in other areas, I probably would! This is "Raven 17"- A curious raven looks skyward...and what are these glowing bits of green everywhere? "Raven 17" is an original acrylic painting, 5" x 7" on a sheet of canvas. I had a rather bland day today- mostly paperwork and stuff, with a bit of brainstorming and sketching along the way- very boring. But, I do have a rather exciting new zombie painting to show off!!
These are the latest flesh eating monsters! This painting is one of my favorites- it kinda freaks me out. Ooh, I was almost lazy enough to not post tonight, but then thought better of it! This is pretty much the first time I've sat down all day, so, once my butt hit the chair, I was like "ooh, that's sooo nice, maybe I'll just take OOONNE more day off" but...It is not to be :)
Anyway, I have some new paintings to show off tonight, plus another eBay auction (an original dragon painting!)...
First, two new ravens! Yes, I know, it is an obsession at this point...I am sure my mind will turn to another subject soon enough, but for now..."Raven 12" and "Raven 13"! "Raven 12" is slightly different that most of the others in the series, with a more defined "blackness"- in the way of swirly Celtic-like vines! I love this raven, he's got a bit of a blue undertone to him, and the background reminds me of going camping and burning marshmallows...mmmm! At any rate, this is an original 8" x 10" acrylic painting on a canvas panel. He is up at sale price in my darklingemily etsy shop. The link is below the picture:

"Raven 13" is more along the lines of most in the series- two dark birds before quite a colorful sunset. This is a smaller 5" x 7" original acrylic painting, on a canvas sheet. (I took a little break from typing this out to make a cup of hot chocolate; it's yummy!) On a somewhat poopy note- the super awesome zombie flip book idea that I have been working on is being *really difficult* and taking up a lot of my time and energy...After much internal struggling, I have come to the conclusion that it is not a good idea for me to continue working on this project for the time being. It was a good idea in theory; in practice, it has proven to be a great big pain in the arse. I am sad to say that I feel like a bit of a failure at not being able to overcome this challenge. It's really more a case of not *wanting* to deal with it any longer. I need to spend my time on more fruitful endeavors. With the amount of time I've spent on this stupid thing, I could have painted many, many pieces of art, or gotten a lot more work done on one of my other books. So, that being the case...i am on to other things :) Perhaps someday I will revisit this idea, hopefully with more patience and energy ;). So, until next time...
