I have a handful of new art today! Yeah! A brand new jester piece, a new circus ACEO and a new dragon and nymph ACEO, and a Zazzle sale, too!
I will start with the beautiful new jester pin up..."Velveteen" is a dirty blonde jester, with a polka dot suit and a GIGANTOR piece of red velvet cake behind her. mmmmmmmm...cake....

Now, for the new ACEOs! "Bird Girl" is the latest in my circus & side show series...I like to think of her a carnie angel. :) Kinda makes me wish I'd given her a tattoo or 5. It's sort of hard to draw when you have gardener's hands...
After about 40 applications of lotion, they are now moving like hands, and not like metal clamps covered in paper...Sometimes I forget to put lotion on, like last night, and I just start drawing. Not the best idea; I messed up two small pieces so terribly, I just put them right in the recycling basket. There was no fixing them. What a travesty. I wonder if it had anything to do with the dry-skin-sliding-across-paper felling- it is a lot like nails on a chalkboard to me. Ugh :) Of course, I do have some art worthy of sharing today! Another new dragon painting, a fairy ACEO, and another older illustration up for auction.
So, this newest dragon painting is titled "Nightengale"- a pale gray dragon, with purple spots, watches twilight descend from a strange, dark flowerstalk...I don't really know what it is about this piece that immediately makes me smell flowers, but it does. So, after messing up a few ACEOs last night, I did manage to pull one off that is not horribly embarrassing :) This new art card is titled "Flower Throne"- a little fairy has found the best seat in the house (or in the garden, rather)! There are a whole bunch of older original works up for auction as well, as I have mentioned in the previous blog post :) The latest of which is "Rogue Princess"- one of my favorites, because it's got a sexy warrior princess,two dragons, AND a castle squeezed in! I also love how the colors of the sky turned out :) This is an original 5" x 7" illustration, up for auction on eBay starting at just $5. It's rather late in my neck of the woods...Well, it's late for me to be tinkering around online and posting stuff, but I'm not all that tired. Also, this post is partially an excuse to put off starting another project. Not that I don't *want* to create, I almost ALWAYS want to, but I am quite sure the focus just isn't there. Lately I have been trying to be mindful of not putting paint to canvas if I know I won;t give it the attention it deserves, in the hopes that I will begin to make more quality art and less mindless crap. Though I suppose that is a point of opinion and taste.
All rambling aside, I have two new pieces to share! A new installation to my "Inkling" dragon series, and a brand new jester pin up! Also, a handful of new ACEO auctions on eBay ;)

I have two angry dragons and a jester to show you tonight! woo woo! So I suppose I will just go ahead and do that...:)
First, I've put up this original ACEO painting on eBay- auction starts at just $5, with free shipping! His name is "Shrieker" and he ain't no nice guy LOL! I like this one, it's got a rather hardcore feel to it...Look at him up there in the angry sky, screaming and screaming...

Next, the other angry dragon (can you tell I was a bit crabby?) This one is at least a little less mean- "Along the Watchtower" is an original 7" x 5" acrylic painting, featuring a glowering little orange dragon looking out from a watchtower ledge...You may visit him in my darklingemily etsy shop to read the blurb I wrote for him, and maybe take him home with you...I promise he'll behave himself!

Last piece of art for the night-"Mangolomaniac" is my latest jester pin up, and she is just beautiful! She's dressed in a somewhat royal-feeling blue and gold suit, with yellow-green eyes to match the mangoes in the picture...Mangoes are my favorite fruit, and aside from chocolate, my favorite food! Like a little piece of heaven...I know it's dorky, but...I am a bit obsessed with them, hence the title of this piece! She is not yet listed on my website or in my etsy shop, though I will have prints of her available shortly. So, that's all for art tonight :) I know I have not been all that entertaining lately, I have been seriously hibernating and thinking up new awesomeness to bring out of my head...I went to take a short nap today (something I very rarely do, but it was raining and grey) and instead of resting, my mind came up with a bunch of ideas that I am pretty psyched about...So, I will be staying up late to A) watch wrestling and B) get some of these new ideas written and sketched out in my book...:D And...off I go!
