Okay...so...October is being pretty good to me so far, and for that I am thankful! Busy and a little overtired most days, but still, life is good.
Not a TON of art tonight, however most of it is Halloween/monster/zombie themed, so...'tis the season ;} I have a brand new dragon + nymph ACEO (halloween!), a few ghoulish new creations in my zombietoes etsy shop, information about a public appearance (yes! ME! IN PUBLIC! AHHH!!!), and more...read on, my friends, read on...

Now...There is a lot of zombie news below, so if you are not a fan of the zombies, I suggest you look away...
Alrighty then...First on the zombie menu, some art (yay)! I have listed some new grossness in my zombietoes etsy shop...A one of a kind, hand sculpted Deathbox, complete with two little zombie magnets inside! This Deathbox is the second one I've ever made. They are pseudo- necronomiconesque, with the stretched faces, real stitching, and subtle painted accents...totally disgusting. I love them! So, this one is available at the link below the picture, and it happens to be half price for my sale this month!

The other new piece of zombie art I have listed is an original 8" x 10 painting, titled "Zombie Love". This is in my stark silhouette style, with an abstract background. I painted this piece awhile back, but there was something about it...wasn;t sure what, for the longest time...Now I know what it was. But I'm not telling. I have no idea how long I will be out for, or what time exactly, or if you would even recognize me if you saw me...I have a pretty good idea of what I want my makeup to look like (it's pretty minimal, like a recently turned zombie...some veins and dark eyes, maybe a gash or two...I dunno)...But, yes, if you come out and you find me, I will give you zombie presents!
That's a lot of zombie. Dang. Well, thanks for putting up with all that, and I hope you don't despise me for it. I've got to go have a brownie and get some relaxing done!

Yes, just a short post tonight. I spent a solid 5 hours on a commission today, from start to finish, and I am kinda worn out and want to veg out in front of the tv and not think. Earlier today I was thinking about going through some of my supplies and selling some things as destash through my etsy shop, but I will have to go through them before I even know what I can part with. I think I will be getting myself deep into one of my larger projects soon, and I am preparing for that by making a whole bunch of ACEOs to have on hand for listing. Trying to get as downsized, prepared, and organized with things to do before winter really hits, and I am left scrambling, lost, and trapped in my studio....Which is really not the worst place to be. ;) But, now, I am off to relax! Not for me, though, I gotta work. BUT! I do have lots of good stuff tonight! Some brand new ACEO originals (and prints, of course), a brand new Facebook Exclusive Auction, and...a zombietoes birthday sale!
I suppose I will begin, as I always seem to do, with the new ACEOs! The first is a new fantasy illustration- "Flamingo Lagoon" is a tiny visual narrative of a frustrating moment in the life of this pink flamingo- a mermaid has taken his favorite spot! Oh noooez! For those of you who are familiar with my art, you know that I do not often draw men (at least human-esque men; most of my dragons happen to be male). I really love this piece, and did consider keeping it for my personal collection. But then I thought "I can just make myself a print", so...lucky you guys! LOL!! Set of TWO mixed media fairy ACEOs
So, details are at the above link, but just for funzies, let me try to sell you...;) I had a short spell of mixed media madness last week, and made a few fantasy collage ACEOs. This is a set of TWO original fairy ACEOs, in my signature mixed media style...something I have not done in awhile! I do not foresee making a ton of these little treasures this year, so if you have wanted one, now is a good time! I used to make these all the time, but at this juncture in my "art life" I am trying out other things. But...lots of texture, color, depth, and detail in these tiny worlds! I promise, if you like fantasy art at all, these will not disappoint you. :)
And...before I go back to my desk to finish my latest painting (to see work in progress pics of it, just click HERE, and scroll down to the bottom of the page for the newest!)...The two year anniversary of my zombietoes etsy shop is next month/aka tomorrow/aka October, and I am planning a shop-wide sale to celebrate! All zombies, monsters, Ralphies, and Cartoon Aquarium art will be on sale! I am not fully sure what the sale will be exactly, but I will be sure to let you know what it is and when it's up and running...Certainly within the next couple of days! YAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZOMBIETOES! The terrible twos, ah lovely...

Well, I have been busy this week! I just wrote out my "to do" list, and it's quite long...Hopefully I will have time to whittle it down! But enough of "what shall be" and on to "what is"...
I have some brand new ACEO auctions up on eBay- some originals, and a handful of 99 cent prints! The first original is another addition to my Dragon + Nymph series: "Burnt Orange" features a nymph laden in peacock-flavored attire, and a burnt orange dragon on her shoulder! I've just completed a commission piece (for more information about how to commission me, just click HERE), and also have been working on some random art the past few days- none of them are really part of a series or project, they are just stand alone pieces. It's been awhile since I've done this, and I find myself to be a little bit lost...but because I have no parameters at all, it allows me to "just do" and see what happens...ah, how quaint and ideal. Heh heh heh. It's nice, though, to just 'make' to make. Right now, I'm gonna go make some cookies and then more art!

Since it has been chilly here of late, with autumn hiding right behind the trees (I SEE YOU!) Now, for some really exciting news! (well, it's exciting to me, anyway!) I am very pleased to announce that my "Little Book of Zombie Limericks" is now a real, live book! It has it's own ISBN number and everything! Also, this is the compilation book, so there are over 75 zombie limericks, over 60 illustrations, and a full color paperback cover, featuring my "Procession to Breakfast" painting! I am soooooo psyched! YAY!!
