Well, I have a brand new painting (okay, it's a few days old) to share with you, and a whole slew of eBay art auctions, as well! Seeing as this post won't be too full of art, though, I will probably ramble for a bit, like the crazy girl that I am...
First, though, allow me to introduce to you my latest painting- "Forest in the Sky" is a very colorful fantasy piece, featuring a little dark haired nymphette, a little bird, and some floating trees! So...It is that time of year again! February marks the three year anniversary of opening my darklingemily etsy shop, so of course we need to celebrate! RAMBLE! I am in the beginning stages of putting the very first Circus & Side Show book together- for now, it will just be a hand made version. Hopefully I will find some time very soon to get it formatted for a real book version...we will see (as always LOL)! Also, making a little progress here and there on my "Problems" series, which I am in love with (which makes me feel like a big narcissist, but, hey...I'm not. I just dabble). Very soon I will have them up online, with lots of explanations and such. I know, I am such a tease. I swear, though, soon! I want to paint more ravens, and more zombies, too! I need more hands, or a clone I can send to work, or...something! ahhh! LOL!

Well well, we meet again...
So, I am officially *all caught up* on my stuff...well, as caught up as I'll ever be. This has left me feeling like I can finally make whatever I want, whenever I want...It's been awhile :) So, I have a brand new jester! Plus some more Ralphie birds, an auction for an original dragon painting, and work in progress pictures!

Sooo....making good strides in my new projects- I am working on a new "Little Things" painting...well, she is sketched out, and the canvas is primed, however, that is currently as far as I've gotten...I have a few new "Problems" illustrations working, some writings that I should get to...so many things! I wish so badly that I could work on them all at once. I wish I could split myself up into more Emily's kind of like Dr. Manhattan (from Watchmen) can. A girl can only dream, I guess.

Well, I just spent my three days off making art like it's going out of style (I dunno, judging by the rate that public schools are cutting art and music classes, maybe it *is* going out of style...) Okay, now, for a new painting! Yay!! It's been awhile since I've had a chance to get anything done on my "Little Things" series, but here is the latest- "Soap in the Air". A pretty blond thing is blowing bubbles at you...The landscape is cheery but strange. This piece is saturated with sickly-sweet candy colors. I love it! She is painted in acrylics on a scalloped wooden plaque; measures approximately 7" x 9" x 1". To continue being the dork that I am, here's a little train of thought: I am typing all of this without really using my right index finger. It's covered in Band-Aids and it feels weird when I type with it. I cut myself on a foil container at work. :( This was right after getting a cardboard cut (cousin to the paper cut, but much more horrid)...It's funny. Of all the things at work that I could really injure myself on, it is those that seem so harmless that always end up maiming me. Perhaps I should be more wary of "those who look like they don't bite" ;)
And with that, I am off to get some things done...or something ;}

Now, let me introduce the new series...heh heh heh! This has been formulating in the very back of my head for some time now. It is sort of a look at me, through my own artist eyes. Of course, it has been stylized a bit, and I will probably embellish a lot and make a lot of shit up, but...as an introvert, I deal with myself all of the time, and have more than a few major 'faces' that make up my days. These 'faces' do not always get along, and thus I put up with many an internal struggle. Well, this is sort of a tongue-in-cheek look at some of the recurring obstacles and culprits of my inner landscape. I'm honestly not wanting to come off as narcissistic with this; really, the reason I'm doing it is more out of (my version of) laziness than anything. This way, I don't have to think too much about the story behind the art. I can just make the art. But, enough rambling. Here is the very first piece in the series I will refer to as "Problems"...
