Spacepunk portrait art, Popcorn Perriot illustration, + NEW COMIC!

This will be my last post before the C-day, so I want to firstly wish you all a very happy holiday seasopn and I hope Krampus does not get you ;) Now, I have some new pieces to share before I take a few days off...A steampunk space traveler, a perriot clown pin up, and a new comic!

Now, for artz! A new "larger" piece (for me)- "Spacepunk" is an original 7" x 11" mixed media painting, featuring a steampunk space traveler! Created in acrylic paints, archival inks, and papers on masonite, she is currently up for auction on eBay, with a starting bid of $30! To see more pictures, read details about the art, and perhaps even place a bid to own her, please visit the link below her picture:

The other brand new piece is an original 5" x 7" illustration- "Popcorn Perriot"! I knew I could not stay away from my clowns for very long...She is a cute one, though, more of a perriot, really (hence the title). Created in archival inks on canvas paper, she is available for bid on eBay, at the link below her picture (bidding starts at $10):

I also have a new comic! See, I am doing well so far, keeping up with my "one a week" LOL!! Week two yeah buddy. Of course, I kind of ran out of time this week to color it in (it takes a little more thought than it looks like)...So it is just the linework. Eventually I will get it colored :) To check out the latest, just click the link below:

Again, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and all, please be safe and enjoy yourselves!

Button + Voyeur Moon pin ups, Mermaid Pyrography art, and a new COMIC!

Greetings all!

Well, the gears are whirring away over here, too fast for my hands to keep up (what else is new?) I brought some sexy ladies, some fire art, and some funny with me :) Here, I'll show you:

Two new pin ups! One of them is nekked- "Buttons" is a pretty tattooed nude, lounging over a chair...this is just a little doodle/sketch with a splash of color thrown in. She is 7" x 5" in pencils and ink on canvas paper, and is up for auction on eBay with a starting bid of $10. To see her listing, more pictures (the uncensored ones, with nip!) and perhaps even place a bid, please follow the link below her pic:

"Buttons" original nude tattooed pin up illustration

The other pin up illustration/sketch is titled "Voyeur Moon"- a full moon watches this bright girl's every move...kinda creepy, but it's the moon, it watches everyone ;) She is also an original 5" x 7" pencil and ink illustration on canvas paper. Up for auction on ebay with the same $10 starting price. Check out more at the link below her picture, if you please:

"Voyeur Moon" original pin up illustration

I also have a bunch of other art auctions running, as always- small art prints starting at 99 cents, plus other originals and goodies! To see everything currently running, please click HERE!

Mermaid time! woo Hoo! I feel like it's been awhile since I've created a proper mermaid, and awhile since I've worked in an unfamiliar medium, so I thought I'd be all crazy and do both at once hah hah! I have created this mermaid- "Fynn", as I have named her- on a small panel of wood (about 2.75" x 7.25"), using a heated wand to burn her into the wood! This form of, uh, art, is called pyrography. I then gave her a light wash of blue for her skin, and darker blue for the background...and she is complete! This was just a practice piece, but! She is up for auction on my Facebook art page :) Bidding starts at $0 (though last I checked, bidding was up to $10), and you can see all the info, pictures, and even bid at the link below the picture:

"Fynn" mermaid pyrography art auction (a FB exclusive!)

Now...I have a brand new comic up! I just show these on my personal FB page, though I try to remember to share them with my art page, too :) This one is about my day job, kind of, yes. I spent a lot of time over my days off sketching up a new batch (yes, that's right, more than one!) and inking them in, so there will be more on the way! I am taking it very slow and releasing one new comic a week, so that I don't overload. Here is a link to the latest and greatest:

Em's funniez- the newest

So, that is it for now. I have been doing a LOT of plotting and planning, sketching, mapping...bookmarking, researching, note-taking. And no, I am not ready to say why. Really, it is nothing I don't normally do with my time. Let's just call it gathering for winter. But it kind of sounds more like I am preparing for an adventure of sorts...hmmm. ;)

A Sharp Dragon, plus Raspberries and Cream FB auction!

Well well, I hope you are doing well!

This is going to be a rather dragon-y post :) I thought I'd give the clowns a short break, though I am sure they will be back very very soon! I have a brand new dragon painting to share, as well as a new Facebook exclusive auction (also dragon-related!)
I know it's not a lot, but I'm trying to keep up with the posting :)

Most of my dragons are friendly creatures, though at times they can cause quite a bit of trouble, as dragons are prone to do. However, I happened to summon this angry little beastie the other day...I know he is not the most, uh, jovial creature, but perhaps you would consider adopting him just the same? This is an original 6" x 4" acrylic painting, titled "Shank". He is up for auction on eBay with a starting bid of just $15! To see the auction listing, and place a bid, please visit the link below the picture:

"Shank" original big eye dragon painting

Now, I also have new Facebook exclusive auction running, until tomorrow night...I know it is short notice, however, it seems there are still no bids on it, so I may extend it a few more days...in the meantime, details: this is a "Raspberry and Cream" color themed auction, featuring a handful of my lovely hand made goodies- a small journal, a pouch, a fabric charm, some paper tags, and an original mixed media dragon piece! Everything matches, it is quite a pretty set of goodies! The bidding starts at $0; more specifics and info on the items and how to place a bid are at the link below the picture (on my Facebook art page):

I will have a lot more to share over the next week, but for now I have to go relax for a bit, I am feeling a little bit drained.

Four new originals- a clown, a nymph, a femme fatale, and a self portrait! Plus- PUZZLES!

Well, happy Friday everyone!
I am completely exhausted, to the point of clumsiness and stupid mistake making- it's a joy, let me tell you...
So, I have FOUR new original illustrations this week- yes, I managed 4, it's a miracle! They are just quick little sketches on canvas paper, each one created in archival inks, pencils, and acrylic paints, and measuring 5" x 7". They are all up for auction on eBay- each with a low starting bid of $10! You can see them individually at the links below the pictures, or all together HERE!

"Daisy" original clown girl fantasy illustration

"Pris" fairy nymph art nouveau illustration

"Gun Shy" femme fatale illustration

"Scribbles" perriot clown (self portrait) fantasy illustration

Oh my GOSH PUZZLES!!! This is something I have been toying with for awhile now, researching print on demand puzzles for my images...but now Zazzle has them, and you all know how much I LOVE my Zazzle. It is kind of a stupid name to ahve to say that I love. Zazzle. Oy. But anyway...There are a few puzzles up in my Zazzle shop- dragons, cartoon aquarium critters, my "Rock Lobster" mermaid (love!) and my "One Man's Storm" wizard (also love!)...To check out all the puzzles, please visit the link below the picture:

Em's art on Puzzles!

Mmmm...how do you feel about my recently resurrected love of clowns? Is it working for you? Because I gotta say, it's awfully cathartic for me. I am so mentally frazzled lately, and I think it's because I have been very lax in my paperwork and online maintenance duties...the boss part of me has apparently gone out of town, and I don't know when she'll come back...so until then, I am just making piles and lists and mental notes...Even when I am not with the program, I still try to stay a little organized. Or maybe I am just fooling myself...only time will tell! We should know by next week LOL!

Raven 22 painting, Etsy shops sale, and A BOx of Fairy goodies!rave

Hi hi! To my US readers- I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Mine was warm, fun, tasty, and relaxing :) And now I bring to you new art and goodies!

How do you feel about another raven piece? I have a brand new one, in purples and sheet music! "Raven 22" is an original mixed media painting- it measures 11" x 7" on masonite. This one has a bit of a creepy feel to it...I guess depending on the day and your outlook, any of my raven paintings can be creepy, or serene, or strange even...I think that is part of the reason I love them so much! Anyhoo..."Raven 22" is currently listed for auction on eBay, with a starting bid of $30! You can place a bid to own this original painting (and also read details about the piece, more photos as well) at the link below the picture:

"Raven 22" original mixed media painting

There is also a *slew* of other art up for auction on ebay- ACEO prints starting at 99 cents, and many original paintings and other pieces starting at just $15! To see all the wonderful things I have currently listed, please click HERE!

Okay, now...I am having a sale in BOTH of my etsy shops this weekend! From now until Tuesday night (that would be the 29th) you can save 35% on your entire order by entering the code TOIKEY at checkout. This code is good for either shop, or both! In addition to that, I am also running a 4x6 print sale- buy any two 4" x 6" prints, get one free! Simply place 2 in your cart and message me at checkout with the title of the third! That's THREE prints for only $6.50 (plus shipping, of course)! This is also going on in both my darklingemily etsy shop as well as my zombietoes etsy shop! I am not sure how long I will run the print sale, certainly longer than the 35% off sale...

I've been moving some of my furniture around and setting up a different space in here (just something new), and I found a whole bunch of fairy stuff I made back in the day- like, a WHOLE BUNCH. I put a good deal of it in a box, and that whole lot is currently up for auction on my Facebook art page...Bidding starts at $0! This is a random assortment of items, but they are all handmade by me with love (and of course a wee bit of crazy) Auction ends next Saturday, Dec 3rd at 11 PM (EST)!! Please click on the link below the picture for all the details and to place a bid!

Bun Bun the Clown, Fairy Art gift boxes, ACEO cards, + rambling ;)

Hi! I know, it's been some time...but I do have some new art! Only one piece- I am slowing down a bit, will touch on that in my ramble at the end here. Though there is only one *new* piece of art, I have lots of other goodies to share!

I really need to introduce you all to "Bun Bun the Clown"- some of you may not find him quite so precious as I do...I do not have an irrational fear of clowns, or bunnies for that matter, but I can appreciate how some of you may feel otherwise. Heh heh. At an rate, "Bun Bun the Clown" is an ORIGINAL mixed media painting- 11" x 7" on masonite. Details about Bun Bun and how he was created, purchase information, and more photos can be found at the listing in my darklingemily etsy shop at the link below:

"Bun Bun the Clown" original rabbit circus clown art

Now...For those of you who are familiar with my older mixed media fantasy art...I have a surprise for you! I am now offering special gift boxes featuring many of my mixed media images through my Zazzle shop! These are so adorable, and I find that even a printed version of my collage art brings a great deal of dimension to a flat tile surface! To check out all the gift boxes I currently have, please visit the link below the picture:

Special Fantasy Art Gift Boxes featuring Em's mixed media art!

Of course, I am still running my usual parade of art prints and originals over on eBay HERE! There are ACEO open edition prints (I try to list a few new ones each day) starting at just 99 cents, and ORIGINAL paintings and illustrations starting at just $15! This is a fantabulous place to look is you are in search of gifts (wink wink), you can get some ridiculous deals this way! Again, please visit my eBay auctions running HERE for lots of deals!

Okay, on to rambling. I am sure some of you have noticed that I have been slowing WAY down in production over the last few months. I know I have mentioned it before. Being an artist is basically like going through one phase after another, and reveling in that phase as much as possible, gleaning every ounce of knowledge and life from it, every drop of color...once you get all that, the cycle clicks over and there is a new phase to explore. That's how it has always been for me, anyhow. Not to say that it is all grand and fabulous, but I try to experience "bad things" in stride with the "good things"- and quotations because nothing is as it seems, really. Well, I think I have just entered some new and bizarre phase in my art, and thus in my life. I am unfamiliar with the landscape and will need time to get my bearings. Knowing myself as well as I do, I have decided to finally slow down a bit. Well, kind of, in a way. I guess it's more like going rogue-hermit to work on some more involved projects. Of course there will still be art, though, no worries! I just can't promise any sort of consistency in creating new art for now. Also, commissions are officially CLOSED until next year sometime, I have not decided when exactly. I have to get my poor website in order- it is half remodeled and I've put it off for far too long now...But anyway, that's me thinking out loud. Or thinking via keyboard.

Live Gargoyle + Silver Dragon Paintings, Raven prints, ++!

Oh, man...Hey...Sorry it's been so long :\

Apparenty, it's been so long I don't even know where to begin, I've just been staring at this blank screen for awhile thinking about things. I have two new dragon paintings, a bunch of auctions running on eBay, some new raven prints up in my Zazzle shop...good times!

I will begin with the dragons- two brand new original paintings! The first is "Live Gargoyle"- a big eyed dragon perched on the rooftop ledge of some unknown building, peering into the night. He is an original 4" x 6" acrylic painting (on canvas) up for auction on eBay! Bidding starts at just $15- to see more pictures, read about the art, and perhaps even place a bid to own this lovely creature, please visit the link below the picture:

"Live Gargoyle" original dragon fantasy painting

I do also have a bunch of eBay auctions running- ACEO prints starting at 99 cents, 4" x 6" print sets (three per set) of some of my dragons starting at $6, and some originals starting at just $15!! To see all the art currently up for auction, please click HERE!!

The other brand new dragon painting is titled "Silver"- a grey dragon half wrapped in his wings, against a yellow-gold background...an interesting color combo...This piece is an original acrylic painting, 4" x 6" on canvas, available in my etsy shop at the link below:

"Silver" original grey dragon painting
I've also relisted a few favorite original pieces in my darklingemily etsy shop, after much debate as to whether to keep them for myself. I suppose I can just live with them until it is time for them to find their new and appropriate homes. So, if you are in the market for a colorful and strange painting for your space, do consider visiting my shop

Now, for all you raven lovers- I have put up some new print sizes and options for a selection of my raven pieces, with more to come when I can find the time! Check out all the raven-y goodness at the link below the photo:

Em's Raven Prints, Posters, and more on Zazzle!

So, the burlesque show was phenomenal! I had a blast, met a ton of great people, saw some friends, drank some drinks, took in a glorious show, and Ii am still a little tired from it, even though it was last weekend. Well, okay, I am tired from working through all of it and then...oh, haha, wait, I forgot...I jsut work all the time! Still in commission land, and...I will warn you now, I will be reworking my commission set up and pricing very soon...I may very well close down commissions for awhile. So...If you want a custom piece from me, now would be the time to squeak in! I will say that once I close commissions, I will not be reopening them again until next year. I think you have about 2 weeks to decide ;)

I know my art output has been lackluster of late...and I have no justifiable reason to apologize. I keep starting projects and then returning to commissions, and then starting more pieces, etc. It has been like tis for...weeks? a month? longer? I am not sure anymore. But hoooooo-frickin-ray for the day where I have time to paint for myself again, because I am going to bust out a lot of work. Right now, though, I am going to relax and read a little bit.

The Other Emily- a peek into the life behind the artist.

I've been meaning to post this for awhile now- this is a general look into some of the other parts of my life that art not so much about making art. Just for fun, I guess. Also, because I have no new art to post this week :\
Anyhoo, I hope you find it mildly entertaining...or something!

I generally get up every morning between 5 and 5:30 am. EVERY MORNING. If I happen to sleep in, it's never really past 8. Sad, isn't it? Around 6am I have first breakfast, consisting of coffee, some sort of food item (often cereal, sometimes a bagel), and Vitamin B. Then I check my emails, feed the cat, get my shipments all sorted out, and sometimes I list a few things on eBay/Zazzle.

"First Breakfast"

Once I get to work, I have second breakfast, usually a piece of fruit or oatmeal or if everything works out well, someone is there to cook me something tasty, but usually I get hungry again before anyone shows up.

I am most productive if I maintain a consistent state of madness in my studio...During the work week, it can get really disheveled around the desk area- paperwork, pieces, and mail to sort through and deal with. And the lists. Don't even get me started on those!

"Abandoned Desk"

Other things also escape me at times, like DOING THE DISHES! I live alone, so there is no one but Emily to blame this mess on:

"Do the Dishes!"

I work outside the studio as a prep cook for Arizona Pizza Company- I am first in every morning, must be in early to make the pizza dough! This is my "office" where I chop, cut, slice, mix, and make all sorts of edible items for our customers! I also spend a good portion of the day here screaming at inanimate machines and muttering to myself under my breath.

"Em's Office"

This is a batch of medium sized pizza dough balls, ready to roll and then flatten in the dough-flattening-machine. (I don't know what it's called for real). Depending on the level of business and time of year, I can make anywhere from 1 to 6 batches of dough a shift. We have three different sizes. It is a PAIN IN THE ASS. But...I get paid for it, and I am apparently good at it. Also, it is a good opportunity to zen out and brainstorm new pictures!

"Dough!"

I have been working in kitchens off and on (mostly ON) for...*ahem*...over ten years now. I have held assorted positions, ranging from dish-dog to manager. At this point, I am content to be a prep cook. I do it very well. At least that is what they tell me, probably just to keep me happy. Don't want to upset a girl with a knife in her hand most of the day, you know? :) But, in all the years I have been "restauranting", I have found that only two things truly matter to make my work days tolerable, even fun...Music, and a great set of coworkers. The music in this particular restaurant is hit or miss, depending on the day and who is managing. Lucky for me, I work with some really wonderful people- hilarious, entertaining, inspiring, just freakin GOOD people. I am very thankful for this, especially because they also put up with ME! I can be a real...well, bitch.

"Coworkers!"

So, I work a regular eight hour day on my feet, running, sweating, swearing, quite often crying, covered in food and grease, and I am pretty beat by the end of the weekend. YEs. I forgot to mention. I WORK EVERY WEEKEND, ALL WEEKEND LONG.

When I get home from work, though, I have this gorgeous man waiting for me:

"Buddy"

If I do not have any friends over, then I quietly spend a little down time with the kitty, check all my mails, cook some dinner, and then I sit. Mostly when I sit, it's to relax and let my brain wander a little. Sometimes I watch a movie, though there is always the danger of falling asleep about ten minutes into it. I will work on paintings or illustrations, write up ideas I had during the day, sort through sketches in my journal, slowly work on secret, never-mentioned projects that I feel may never come to fruition, catch up on odds and ends, or read, and do some stretching before bed. I try to go to bed at a reasonable hour (like 11pm) but that usually does NOT happen! And then...it starts all over again the next day!

Basically, I work all the time. You cannot see the glamor in this daily life, because I save it all up and then put it on paper, in color, to share with you. I make art as a release, and as therapy. I make art to give myself something back at the end of the day. I make art because my hands are not happy if they are not speaking for my heart. I make art because it makes me. I make art because I am Emily, and I don't know what else I would do. And...that's all I have to say about that :)

xo!

Sexy Witch pin up auction, Burlesque + Art show info, Mermaid + Sea Monster art, + more!

Again! I am so sorry you guys. I am really bogged with work and stuff, just trying to make it through one minute at a time here! Crazyland! Amazingly, I seem to have endless energy and decently upbeat spirits lately, for the most part, so that is helpful! I also happen to have some new art and info on a one night show!

I will start with the brand new art! Since I've taken on a handful of commissions and one slightly involved project, I haven't had a lot of time to make art for art's sake. Though I did find some time recently, and painted up a pretty little Halloween witch! "Flight of the Jack-o-Lanterns" is an original 5" x 7" acrylic painting, featuring a sexy pin up style witch and two flying Jack-o-Lanterns! This particular painting is up for auction on my Facebook page- she is currently sitting at $12, and bidding ends Monday night, October 3rd, at 11pm EST. You can check out the auction (and bid if you like, and share if you like, too!) at the link below her picture:

"Flight of the Jack-o-Lanterns" original Halloween pin up painting auction (FB exclusive!)

NOW...(dun dun dun)...I will be MAKING A PUBLIC APPEARANCE!! OMG!! AHHH!! Yes, it is TRUE, I will be crawling out from my stacks of papers, piles of fabric, and leaving my kitteh home by himself for a night of art and debauchery, burlesque style! Being the featured (visual) artist for Bon Appétit Burlesque's Ghoulesque Halloween show is, like, THE COOLEST! I am psyched!!

The short of it: Friday, October 14th, at the Deuce (World War II Club) Northampton, Doors at 8pm, show starts at 9pm (come early and chat with me!)-- ALL the info can be found at the Facebook page for the event:

Bon Appétit Burlesque's Ghoulesque

I will be there, all dressed up like most of you have never seen, showing a selection of my art, enjoying the show, and hanging out! If you are in the area, have $10(ish), are over 21 (sorry kids!) and like awesomeness, please come out!!

Okay, now one more little bit of art before I get on to the next thing (which should really be bed, but...probably not). I have listed the original illustration of "Napping Sea Monster" for auction on eBay. This is a piece I did last year, and I just love her so much, she is so pretty! Ah, dork! Yes, she is a beautiful purple haired mermaid, cradling a tiny sea dragon monster in her arms- he is napping! So sweet! This original illustration is 10" x 8" in mixed media- all the info is at the link below the picture, bidding starts at $30!

"Napping Sea Monster" original fantasy illustration

Also, a whole bunch of other art auctions on eBay, ACEO prints, some relisted originals (Frankenstein dragon!)...Please click HERE to see them all!

Halloween Dragons- Frankenstein, Witch, and Zombie! Plus new $5 prints on etsy!

OKay...

I know, I know...I suck. I totally skipped last week's post, but I swear to you I was working! I was also sick and exhausted, so...I had to take it easy for once. I don't slow down unless my body forces me to, and it was saying "STOP!". I feel much better now, and I have some new art to share! (Finally!)

First up is a painting that just came to me in an instant and I could not ignore him- "Franken Dragon"! He is an original 4" x 6" acrylic painting on canvas, up for auction on eBay with a starting bid of just $15! I am in love with this piece, so if you love him too, better consider snapping him up now, I may just have to add him to my personal collection...;) The link to the auction listing (with more info and pictures, plus bidding!) can be found below the picture:

"Franken Dragon" original Halloween fantasy art

Another brand new original- "Witch Dragon"- it's all Halloween up in this biatch hah! So, "Witch Dragon" is an original ACEO painting (2.5" x 3.5" acrylics on canvas)...This little dragon is up for auction on eBay as well, and for a low starting bid of $5! To see the listing, and perhaps adopt this silly little thing into your home, please visit the link below the picture:

"Witch Dragon" original Halloween ACEO art

Now, this third dragon was a commission piece, and as of right now I am not offering any sort of reproductions of this image. This may change at some point, however, I did want to show it off, as technically it is my first official zombie dragon! This piece is titled "Let Freedom Roar". I will post more information on the project this image is a part of once there is something to be told...

But...if you want to peak your curiosity, check out this website: http://www.thesestrangeworlds.com

Also, I have been listing more $5 prints in my etsy shops- this round I am working on my zombietoes etsy shop! All 4" x 6" prints are just $5! To see all my available prints, just click HERE! More to come in the next few days, too ;)

Okay, I gotta drag my butt off to bed...Otherwise, I am afraid I will just keep working!

"Dead Monster Bouquet" finished! Plus, Zombie original art auction, Jester Pin Up illustration, and $5 prints!

Hi hi!

Whew! While I am typing this, it is currently 8:15 am and I am trying to *not fall behind* on my work...phhsssh, that is futile, I should know by now. I did get part of a commission piece finished up last night (barring approval) and have a bunch more from that project to work on, as well as another separate piece...and lots of other stuff! But enough of that for now. I have NEW ART to share! well, one new piece. :\ Better than nothing! Also- 4" x 6" open edition art prints for $5 each, some older original pieces up for auction on eBay, and perhaps some rambling...

Allow me to introduce the completed "Dead Monster Bouquet"- she is an original 8.5" x 11" illustration (inks, acrylics, and pencil on bristol). I started this piece in a really bad mood, and in my head she was much darker...at least at first. But because I do not have the luxury of working on one piece all the way through at the moment, I had to keep putting her aside. Days passed, and I wasn't in a terrible mood anymore. Some colors peeked through. Bouquets should be colorful, even if they are made of dead scary things with sharp claws and angry mouths. Also, I should note two things about this piece- first being that I had intended for the ink on the background monsters to run and bleed, so...I am aware of that. I had hoped for a little more bleed, but what can you do. Also, no monsters were harmed in the creation of this piece- the dead ones were "ethically collected after death" and "preserved in an ecologically friendly" fashion. The original "Dead Monster Bouquet" illustration is currently up for auction on eBay, with a low starting bid of $50 (and a Buy It Now price of $75)...To see more pictures, read about her a bit, and perhaps even add her to your collection, please visit the link below the picture:

Okay. That's all for brand new art. BUT! I have some other, older (and still viable!) originals up for auction on eBay- ONE OF THEM IS A ZOMBIE PAINTING! You must know that it is not often that I offer my *original* zombie pieces up for sale, so...take advantage! This particular round it is my great big (16" x 20") "Green Means GO!" acrylic painting on gallery wrapped canvas. You can see all the auction details and such at the link below the picture:

I've also got an original jester pin up illustration up for auction- "Caramelized" is a sweet and delicious temptress, outfitted in a suit made of caramel! MMM freakin' delicious! Ha! She is an original 8" x 10" artwork (acrylic paints, pencils, and inks on bristol)...Check out the link for all her auction info- $30. starting bid!

Also, a bunch of other wonderful pieces- both originals and prints- are up for auction as well! To see them all, just click HERE!

Uh! I told you there was a lot today :) I still have to fill you in on my 4" x 6" prints! I am now offering open edition art prints of some of my favorite pieces for just $5 each! I will have more available in the next few weeks, too- but for now, if you buy any two 4" x 6" prints, you get one 4" x 6" print free! Just put three in your cart, and DO NOT PAY ME until I adjust your invoice! SO, your $15 purchase will turn into $10, and you still get everything you wanted! Woo! (that does not include shipping, which is as low as I can make it) Additionally, if you happen to purchase a 5/$10 art print set, I will also send you a free 4" x 6" print of your choice! Just add your free 4" x 6" print to your cart, and again- DO NOT PAY ME UNTIL I CHANGE YOUR INVOICE! LOL!! I think I will just run this sale until Next Wednesday. Or until I run out of prints, whichever happens first. Probably Wednesday, then. So...Check out the link below the picture for all my 4" x 6" art prints!

Well, this is getting rather long, and I have a crapton of work to get to, so I don't know that I will ramble. I will say this, though- earlier this week, I was sure I would not have time to get a piece finished to post, so I took my camera around with me and sort of documented a usual week in my life. I am wanting to put together a post about my daily life, because...most of you do not know that side, and I think you might find it interesting? More interesting than I do, most likely. So...I will try to get that together at some point very soon.

"Dead Monster Bouquet" Work in Progress pictures, FB Fan Giveaway (aka FREE ART!) + rambling.

Gah! No time to sleep! Ahhhh!!

The sad thing is, I don't even have any new art to share. Well, I have some work in progress photos. I thought I had better post something anyway...Oh, yes, I also have a Facebook Fanpage Giveaway going on this weekend! And some rambling, of course, because what else would I post, having no art? Haha..ha..ha.

First of all... I am working on a few new ladies...I had to take a break from the dragons, I needed a little sexy in my life. So, there are some work in progress photos of my latest pin up illustration "Dead Monster Bouquet" up in my FB Work in Progress album HERE along with a line sketch of another piece I am slowly filling in. I am hoping to have these two strange and beautiful women completed next week...We will see what happens between my commission work, my day job, and my lack of sleep. ;)

Now, I am also holding a giveaway on my Facebook Art Page, as I have reached 400 "likes" and it is high time to celebrate SOMETHING LOL! So, I am giving away a handful of free art- all the info on how to enter and what you could win are at the link below the picture:

Darkling Treasures Facebook Giveaway \

Before I start my ramble, allow me to mention the ongoing parade of art for auction on eBay HERE- ACEO Prints from 99 cents, ACEO Originals from $5, and assorted original paintings and illustrations from $15!

Ramble ramble...I am working on a lot of commission stuff lately, and with the day job getting busier (I live in a college town, and all the students are flooding back in, making work BUSY!), I have not had all that much time to mess around in the studio or even in any sort of social aspect. I seem to be fighting with myself a lot lately, mostly over the overview of my art business and it needing a great big overhaul. I am trying to find time to get my website under control. I am trying even harder to find time to sleep! On the upside, I am getting my Mondays back in the studio, and...I am about 2/3 of the way prepared for Halloween- at least art wise. I don't know about a costume. PSssh, who am I kidding? I will probably just sit at home and paint. (What a derk.)

"Spectrum" + "My Pumpkin" dragon ACEO paintings, "Tea Time" creepy mini portrait set, NEW Comic, and some info...

Greetings from Emily-Land!

Well...Firstly, I am in an area that may or may not be hit by Hurricane Irene, so...it is very possible I could lose power for a few days, in which case...I will not be online. Just a warning. At this point I am brainstorming things to do when the power goes out...as i like to be as productive as possible, regardless of the situation! BUT! For now, I have THREE new original paintings to share!

Onto art! First up, I have two brand new, adorable, ORIGINAL dragon ACEO paintings up for auction on eBay! The first is titled "Spectrum"- a wide-eyed, white dragon is giving off all the colors in the spectrum! The original painting (2.5" x 3.5"- acrylic on canvas) starts with a $5 bid- to see all the info and perhaps even adopt him into your home, please visit the link below his picture:

The other new ACEO is a little bit autumn-esque/Halloween-y! This one is titled "My Pumpkin"- this wee dragon has found the most beautiful pumpkin in the whole patch! This little ACEO (3.5" x 2.5"- acrylics on canvas) is also up for auction with a starting bid of $5. To see more, just follow the link:

There are many more dragons strewn all over my studio, in various stages of complete, so you can be expecting more of them over the next few weeks!

Now...one more eBay art auction- "Tea Time" is a new set of my 2" square portrait paintings! This set features two pretty, but slightly creepy girls, telling you to come and have tea with them! This set of two original paintings is framed and matted- up for auction with a starting bid of $15. To see all the info and better pictures, please visit the link below:

So that is all for new art at this point. Of course, I do have additional art auctions running (always!)- you can see them all by clicking HERE! Plus all the wonderful creations in my darklingemily etsy shop and my zombietoes etsy shop! ;)

I must admit, I am a bit discombobulated, as I have some larger projects on my plate, and a mess of a studio, a mess of a schedule, a mess of a life...Everything will all be sorted through and put back in its place soon, and things will return to the usual half-crazed instead of full-crazed! Until then, Why not enjoy some of my silliness with a brand new comic:

"Storm Cloud City" nude angel + "Speckle" dragon original paintings, NEW Comic, plus Mugs and Buttons on Zazzle!

Hi all!

Sorry, I know it's just been one day longer than usual, but I feel like I've lived three weeks in one...Sadly, one of my kitties has left this world, and so I am dealing with that loss, trying to take a little extra time out of my schedule to just...be. :( But...on a happier note, I do have some new art to share, a new comic strip, and some fun stuff on Zazzle!

Now, the new paintings: "Storm Cloud City"- a little 6" x 4" sky scene- a (tastefully) nude angel sitting on a storm cloud, with a floating sky castle in the distance. I really like how this piece turned out, and am rather impressed with all the details I could get into such a small space. She is available for in depth viewing and purchase through my darklingemily etsy shop at the link below the picture:

"Storm Cloud City" original nude angel + castle fantasy art

Also new- "Speckle"- a cuddly, colorful, cute creature of the dragon variety- big, bright eyes, and a slight look of trouble about this one...This is an original 4" x 6" acrylic painting, available for auction on ebay now! A $15 starting bid can potentially get him into your home! To see the auction listing and more pictures, please visit the link below:

"Speckle" original big eye dragon painting

As always, I have a bunch of other wonderful art auctions running- prints and originals! To see them all, kindly click HERE!

Finally, after a long wait...I have put up a new comic on my Facebook page HERE! These are just silly things that happen, that I think about, and that stick in my head and make me smile. Many of them are lewd and I am not going to apologize for that. But I will apologize for not apologizing (sorry!) Anyhoo...Here is the link to the latest:

"Heavy Cream" comic by Em

My Zazzle Shop has been recently updated with a TON of new buttons and mugs! Also, some new Doodle speakers! To see all the fun new things, just click the link below the picture:

New Buttons and Mugs on Zazzle!

Mmmm, I think that is about all for the moment. I do not feel much like rambling tonight. I think I will just go play with some paints for a bit.

"Underbrush" creepy Dragon painting, Rabbit Ears bunny T Shirts,+ my first curated etsy treasury!

Greetings ladies and germs :)

I have a brand new dragon painting to share (he's a little bit creepy!) plus "Rabbit Ears Addendum" on T shirts, a very special etsy treasury, and some random odds and ends...

Firstly, the dragons have returned to my studio, after a brief departure to lands unknown and unspoken of...They have sent only a few of their kind back, but these few dragons *insist* upon Halloween related art in their favor. Being dragons, I shall not deny them their every whim, so...here is one:

"Underbrush" is an original 4" x 6" acrylic painting (on a sheet of artist canvas)- a candy-corn colored critter in a creepy thicket...He is listed for auction on eBay, with a starting bid of just $15! To see all the details, and perhaps place a bid, just visit the link below his picture:

"Underbrush" original creepy dragon art

In addition to aforementioned painting, I have a bunch of ACEO prints up, all at 99 cent starting bids- there are some newer pieces up currently, inclluding my pin up robot "Recalibrate"! To see them all, just click HERE!

About time for a new T shirt...I have "Rabbit Ears Addendum" available on all sorts of styles and colors in my Zazzle Shop- this is the little blue bunny with the antennae hat, sitting in front of a static TV screen...Check out the shirts at the link below the picture:

"Rabbit Ears Addendum" T shirts, hoodies, + tanks! Also, be sure to check for the latest deals and coupon codes on Zazzle's official coupon page HERE!

One more thing...I have recently curated my first etsy treasury- a grouping of others' works, conveying a message (on their own as well as in a series)..It is called 'this beast' and you can view it at the link below- if you happen to have an etsy account, do feel free to sign in and leave love in the comments, and/or by clicking on the thumbnails to get bigger, better views of the art! It also helps the individual shop owners. :) Account or no, check it out (pretty please?):

"Night Fae" mini painting set (framed) + necklaces, New ACEO original- Beer, + bookmarks!

Oh my goodness, I am sneaking in another post this week! Whaa? :D

It just so happens that I have a new set of mini portrait paintings to share, as well as a new ACEO original, and a few bookmarks!

So, this new portrait set features *two* little acrylic paintings- each one is 2" square on canvas. This set is two pretty fairies, one blue, one purple, with swirly white hair and sweet smiles! I call this set "Night Fae"- it is all framed and matted up, ready to be displayed! You can see all the photos, read all about the paintings, and get all the details on bidding at the link below the picture:

"Night Fae" set of two mini fantasy paintings

These two beauties are also available in necklace form via my Zazzle Shop...You can see them both by following the link below the picture:

"Night Fae Necklaces on Zazzle

A new ACEO nowz! This is one of my recent attempts at drawing men...He came out okay, I think. He is titled "Beer", and he is available for auction (starting bid of $5) at the link below the picture:

"Beer" original fantasy ACEO illustration

Of course, there are a bunch of other art auctions running now; to see them all, just click HERE!

New bookmarks have been listed in my darklingemily etsy shop! New images, including my raven painting "The Locket", and my illustration "Compass Angel", plus lots more, and they are each just $3! Maybe you have a Kindle or some other newfangled reading contraption, and I say 'good for you'! I, on the other hand, am rather old fashioned when it comes to certain things, books being near the top of that list. I need them to be made of paper and to be books. So, I still find bookmarks to be a feasible item to produce. I can at least use them myself hah hah! Anyhoo...you can view all of them in my etsy shop HERE!

So, that is it for me on this day. At least for posting. I have some shipments to pack, some things to get ready for the day job in the morning, some other things to write down on a list, emails, oh crap I still have to eat dinner...you know. The usual BS. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

"Hello Phone" mini painting set (framed), New ACEO originals- "Ooh, A Piece of Candy!" + "Boudoir", plus necklaces + prints!

Hello!

Things got all crazy, so I have been a bit quiet on the social networking front lately (sorries to all). I picked up an extra half shift at the day job, effectively leaving me with approximately 2.5 entire studio days, if I don't sleep. ;) So, I've been busting butt. I do have a few new pieces to share, and I am working on getting a small stockpile to list at my leisure...SO hopefully you won't even notice I am missing!

The first new piece is actually a set of two! "Hello Phone" features two little portraits (each painting is 2" square) of cute 50's era style girls. A little flirty, definitely adorable! I love them... I have taken the liberty of matting and framing them together in a 4" x 6" frame...you can see all the pictures, read all about them, and even place a bid at the link below the picture ($15 starting bid)

"Hello Phone" set of two original portrait paintings

I will have more sets of mini portraits in the near future- they have stemmed from the studio cleaning that has been going on over here...painted on scraps of primed artist canvas that were trimmings from other paintings. I hate to waste, and I can paint small, so...there you have it folks.

I do also have both of these lovely ladies available on necklaces through my Zazzle Shop- just visit the link below the picture

"Hello Phone" lady portrait necklaces (among others!)

Now, some new original ACEOs! ONe of them is a DUDE!! He's kind of scary, though...I guess I'll just start with him :) "Ooh, a piece of Candy!" is me trying to lighten up this guy just a tad...he seemed so upset, and I figured...maybe a piece of candy would ease his malcontent a bit...but no...Anyhow, he is an ORIGINAL ACEO (2.5" x 3.5" acrylics and ink on bristol)...He is listed for auction on eBay ($5 starting bid) and all the info is at the link below:

"Ooh, a piece of Candy!" original dark fantasy ACEO illustration

I must admit, scary as he is, I will miss him if/when he finds a new home.

Another original ACEO on eBay- "Boudoir"- a pretty girl and a little dragon play dress up in lingerie! Much happier and lighter than Mr. Grumpily up there, heh heh. This original ACEO (3.5" x 2.5") is also up for auction (starting bid $5) at the link below the picture:

"Boudoir" original dragon + girl fantasy illustration

One last thingy, here...I have put up a few new print sets in my darklingemily etsy shop! Sets are 5 assorted 4" x 6" prints of my fantasy art- older pieces mostly- for $10 per set. These prints are from a backstock that I have recently found in a box under a box inside a box. ;) You can see them all by visiting the Art Print section in my etsy shop HERE!

I am still sorting through all sorts of goodies in my studio- I am going through all my shiny metal stashes currently, and once I get those all sorted, packaged, and listed, I will get on to sorting through my fiber stash...But I'm keeping ALL of my ribbons! And I'm not even sorry about it hahahaha! Okay...love!
