Hello there...
Well, I know it has been a bit since my last post...Things have been slightly on their ear lately, and I am trying my best to deal with real life. Last weekend my dog passed away, so I have been really bummed and sad. It's difficult to paint when you are crying all the time...and of course that's the only thing that would take my mind off it...He was a wonderful dog, and would have made an even better person. Sweet Oliver, you will be missed sorely, and certainly never ever forgotten.
I did manage to get a few things done between work and mourning...I have three new ACEO originals for auction on eBay, and a spiffy new 10" x 8" illustration of the steampunk variety available on etsy...Let me get to those noW!
The first piece is my latest 8 x 10" illustration- "Confused" is another story-type piece. This steampunk pilot is researching something, but there is so much information, where will she start? Well, I have been playing catch up in the studio this week; got some new pieces to share! A brand new Dragon Square (#5!), a slightly sad nautical illustration, some new ACEOs...plus I am in the mood to ramble, so...yay!
Firstly, I am very proud to introduce to you all the latest Dragon Square painting- #5! This original 5" x 5" sqaure fantasy painting features a lone robot/spaceship/satellite dragon flying through outer space! I am so happy that I've managed to make it look like what I wanted it to! Let's all cheer for sci-fi...yay! For some reason, I have always had this strange obsession with dragons AND outer space; the one tattoo I have is of a space dragon :). Okay...This next piece is something a little different from me...it is a rather romantic nautical illustration ..."Departure" is essentially a story piece; I only call it that because it makes me ask a million questions. Who is this woman, what does that letter say? Why is she crying? All those questions eventually lead to me making up a back story in my head. I hope she maybe does the same for you! "Departure" is an ORIGINAL 8" x 10" illustration, created in acrylic paints, prismacolor pencils, and archival inks on bristol. So...I think it's ramblin' time! Lately I have been feeling...strange. A little lost. A little confused. Certainly feeling as prolific as ever, but hesitant to "just create". I am not feeling too serious, but I am feeling like there needs to be more purpose behind what I do. I also feel like I need to reign in my style a little bit more. I think my brain needs a vacation from itself. I think I think too much! LOL! Anyhoo...off to do things and stuff. Love!

This is quite the dragon-y post today! I have a brand new Dragon Square painting, one brand new ACEO, T shirts, and something very special that Natalie Von Raven (Magisterian) and I cooked up together...
Of course I must begin with this (mostly) sweet little dragon..."Dragon Square #4" features a wary blue dragon, perched on a morning glory vine, watching some honey bees while they work. Onto the new ACEO- "Butterfly Stage" is just that- a pretty nude woman sits and watches the crazy air dancing of these tiny bugs! I adore the color scheme in this piece (of course, I am partial to aquamarine and yellow when I work, so...no surprise there...) She is listed for auction on eBay, with a starting bid of only $5! Now...Something wicked this way comes...Well, not so much wicked, but...something special this way comes LOL! My artist friend Natalie Von Raven *Magisterian* and I have collaborated on a painting over the last month or so...and I just received the finished piece in the mail earlier this week! It is eye-popingly awesome! As of yet, there is no official title, though I know her half is referred to as "Evolution". Here is the finished painting (10" x 8" on canvas panel):

OOoooh...
Yeah, I had to take a little time off from the computer this past week- doing a little more spring cleaning (there is still more fun to be had in that department), then I hurt my "drawing" thumb, and it needed to heal and rest, so...I've been lame and boring. Hurrah! LOL!
Anyway, I am back with some new art (okay, kind of a bunch of new art hee hee), plus some other random news and stuff...
I will begin with my latest favorite painting "April Fool". I am in love with this jester, and her red umbrella (I do not own an umbrella of my own, but I am fascinated by them...) and there's even a rubber ducky to keep her company! I can only hope that as the year progresses, I can make more jesters like her! So, I've been busy painting away, and brainstorming of course! Currently, I have put all my larger, more involved projects on HOLD, mostly because I am getting confused and frazzled...Sometimes, I make far too much work for myself. Not that I don't love it, but...I don't want to live in a state of confusion *all* the time hahaha!
At any rate, I have some new art, some old art (but equally as awesome), and some new merch to share :)
I want to begin by introducing the latest dragon square- "Dragon Square #3" features a sweet little starry green dragon; he is flying through a very colorful mist (it's probably sugar-laden) and he seems to be quite hyper! He's adorable! Ummm...Yeah. I dunno. So sorry I have been slacking on the blog posts! Been busy, tired, sick, trying to get back to normal...brainstorming a lot, doing some spring cleaning...
I have some new art to share! Well, kind of new...LOL! The first piece is my latest dragon zodiac illustration (been a long time coming)! "Virgo Dragon" is an original 8" x 10" illustration, featuring a lovely cream colored dragon, with feathered wings, and big blue eyes. The glyph for Virgo, and Mercury also make an appearance.
