As you may have guessed, I have some new art tonight, as well as some new products in my Zazzle shop!

As usual, I am up to my eyeballs in work, but...I have gotten ALL of my illustrations 100% completed for the new zombie limericks! Woo!! Though I will never get into my head that it might be a good idea to create zombies in MODERATION, rather than working on them furiously in every spare minute I get for days at a time...It does make for some awfully strange dreams. LOL!!
Speaking of strange, I am plugging away at a bunch of ACEOs in my new circus/sideshow series. Many are still in the "pencil skritchings" stage, a few have been inked, and some even have a few layers of color. I couldn't decide which to start on first, so I am making both the circus and the sideshow, so, expect to see art ranging from carosel horses to the Fiji Mermaid, and all the weirdness in between very soon!

Good news for all you zombie lovers who have been patiently waiting for something new on the living dead art front- I have listed two brand new Zombie Ink Blot art prints in my zombietoes etsy shop! I am also hard at work on the latest little books of zombie limericks; I am at the point of illustration and a bit of editing...I have not decided if I am going to release them as individual volumes, or if I will just go ahead and begn work on the compilation book...But I will keep you all posted. If you have a preference, do let me know, and I'm sure I will take it into consideration :)

So, I have eighteen (YEAH!) new zombie limericks written, though I have yet to edit or illustrate them, so...it could be awhile before anyone reads them. I am also considering saving them for the compilation book, making that project their debut...However, like I said, (either way) it's a while off... This has nothing to do with anything other than my usual "biting off more than I can chew" attitude towards my creative endeavors. But this is how I seemingly never have any lapses in "inspiration"...There is always something in the work pile that will suit my mood, regardless of what that mood may be. Unfortunately, *tired* is not a mood, nor is it easy to motivate when one is sleepy...Like today LOL!! Though, after my writing frenzy, I did get started on a new (short) series of ACEOs. Since it is now approaching that disgustingly, deliriously warm and muggy weather, I have become nostalgic for the circus and the carnival...And that is what this latest series is based on! That's right, side show freaks a la Emily...You have been fairly warned. I'm not 100% sure when I will have any ready to post, but I will give the estimate of...End of this week, beginning of next. So, keep an eye out! Oh, yes, and my other, secret project is coming along slow and steady...But I'm still not telling what it is! Ha ha! Have a great week, all!

So...I've been messing around with my endless pictures while I have my coffee in the mornings, and have created a bunch of new, fun Zazzle products! Something of interest (to me, anyway) are these photo sculpture things...Currently, there are two different ones, made from my "Sunny" mermaid illustration, as well as from my "Inkling 1- Falling Sky" painting. The coolest thing about these photo sculptures is that you can have them made in a variety of ways- magnets, ornaments, pins, wall hangings, or stand alone sculptures. I am still working on a new set of Zombie Limericks, and I *really* need to get crackin' on the next installments of my zodiac dragons, as well as some new jester pin ups! But...I can only do so much at once time. If I didn't need to sleep, I could get a lot more accomplished! Unfortunately, I am pretty much useless without at least 6 hours of rest, which saddens me, because it means I am getting old. :( I used to be able to stay up all night and not even notice. Oh well :)

I have been busting arse lately, and so far, so good...I haven't burnt out...yet! LOL! Of course, my garden is suffering *just a little bit* with all the time I have not put into it this week, however...other things must be taken care of. Nature, you are going to have to fend for yourself for a little bit, and try not to grow too many weeds in my flower bed...(sure, sure).

hmmm...what else...Oh! Well, I should inform you all that I have taken on a dinky part time job, on top of my first dinky part time job as a gardener, so now, magically, I am working full time on top of making art to share! This was a necessary evil, and I feel obliged to warn you that I may not be cranking out the art as fast as I was previously. I just didn't want anyone to worry about where I have gone to :) I think for now, my new art will be on the small side, mostly ACEOs and 5" x 7" illustrations, with a few larger paintings speckled in here and there when I have the time. Of course, there is always art up in both my darklingemily etsy shop and my zombietoes etsy shop to look at and purchase, and I will remain open to commissions as well. Also, this should not affect shipping in any way, and you will receive your orders as promptly as ever :)
With all the craziness, and also having a major side project in the works, I have yet to update my website galleries and news :( I am going to try *really* hard to get that done, as I have not updated since April!
