Not for me, though, I gotta work. BUT! I do have lots of good stuff tonight! Some brand new ACEO originals (and prints, of course), a brand new Facebook Exclusive Auction, and...a zombietoes birthday sale!
I suppose I will begin, as I always seem to do, with the new ACEOs! The first is a new fantasy illustration- "Flamingo Lagoon" is a tiny visual narrative of a frustrating moment in the life of this pink flamingo- a mermaid has taken his favorite spot! Oh noooez! The other new original ACEO is the latest in my Circus & Side Show series- "The Ringmaster"- yes, a dude! For those of you who are familiar with my art, you know that I do not often draw men (at least human-esque men; most of my dragons happen to be male). I really love this piece, and did consider keeping it for my personal collection. But then I thought "I can just make myself a print", so...lucky you guys! LOL!! Set of TWO mixed media fairy ACEOs
So, details are at the above link, but just for funzies, let me try to sell you...;) I had a short spell of mixed media madness last week, and made a few fantasy collage ACEOs. This is a set of TWO original fairy ACEOs, in my signature mixed media style...something I have not done in awhile! I do not foresee making a ton of these little treasures this year, so if you have wanted one, now is a good time! I used to make these all the time, but at this juncture in my "art life" I am trying out other things. But...lots of texture, color, depth, and detail in these tiny worlds! I promise, if you like fantasy art at all, these will not disappoint you. :)
And...before I go back to my desk to finish my latest painting (to see work in progress pics of it, just click HERE, and scroll down to the bottom of the page for the newest!)...The two year anniversary of my zombietoes etsy shop is next month/aka tomorrow/aka October, and I am planning a shop-wide sale to celebrate! I am not fully sure what the sale will be exactly, but I will be sure to let you know what it is and when it's up and running...Certainly within the next couple of days! Well, I have been busy this week! I just wrote out my "to do" list, and it's quite long...Hopefully I will have time to whittle it down! But enough of "what shall be" and on to "what is"...
I have some brand new ACEO auctions up on eBay- some originals, and a handful of 99 cent prints! The first original is another addition to my Dragon + Nymph series: "Burnt Orange" features a nymph laden in peacock-flavored attire, and a burnt orange dragon on her shoulder! I've just completed a commission piece (for more information about how to commission me, just click HERE), and also have been working on some random art the past few days- none of them are really part of a series or project, they are just stand alone pieces. It's been awhile since I've done this, and I find myself to be a little bit lost...but because I have no parameters at all, it allows me to "just do" and see what happens...ah, how quaint and ideal. Heh heh heh. It's nice, though, to just 'make' to make. Right now, I'm gonna go make some cookies and then more art!

Since it has been chilly here of late, with autumn hiding right behind the trees (I SEE YOU!) Now, for some really exciting news! (well, it's exciting to me, anyway!) I am very pleased to announce that my "Little Book of Zombie Limericks" is now a real, live book! It has it's own ISBN number and everything! Also, this is the compilation book, so there are over 75 zombie limericks, over 60 illustrations, and a full color paperback cover, featuring my "Procession to Breakfast" painting! I am soooooo psyched! YAY!! I am still working on my Red Velvet Cake pin up jester. She is nearly complete, and I may just finish her up tonight after I get all my computer work done...Though, I do have a few new work in progress pictures up in my Facebook album HERE if you are curious ;) She's very pretty! And I think the next jester will be a candy apple themed piece...I just absolutely love apples. Delish.
n other news, I've been having numerous creative epiphanies...It's all I can do to get them written down until I have the time to sort through them, edit, decide whether or not they are worthy of my time, and get them moving...A lot of them are rather involved projects, and since I am already working on one of those, the others will have to just live in my journals until I can get to them. Such is the paradox of being an artist...When you have the time, often the ideas are fleeting. When you have no time, they tumble down on you like there are a bunch of angry squirrels shaking the acorns out of the trees.
This is why I wrote everything down now ;) So, even if there is not any perceptible inspiration, I still have plenty of ideas... Here are a few things that are brewing in my brain:
- stationery sets
- hardcover journals and day planners featuring my art
- another FB giveaway
- a vehicle for my circus & side show series...short stories? I dunno...
So, yes, though I have been quiet online lately, I am still my crazy self, cooking up silly ideas, and tossing them in the air to see if they can fly or not...What, oh what, will come next?

Also, I have ordered the precopy of my compilation "The Little Book of Zombie Limericks", and I simply CANNOT wait for it to show up in the mail so I can approve it! Once I have okay-ed it, I will be making it available to the public...So, hopefully very soon now! It is essentially all three volumes of my zombie limericks (you know, the ones available through my etsy shop here...), plus a sh*tload of new limericks and illustrations! Dudes, it's like 80 pages hahaha! I'm so psyched. :D
I spent all afternoon painting, it is so nice to have time for that LOL! Aside from the new jester piece, I am working on my ACEO series of women with dragons...which I really should get back to about now :)

What else what else...Sorry to bog y'all down with all this new stuff. This is why I feel bad about not having more time to post during the week. Oh! Yes! I have (finally) updated my website- darklingtreasures.com with a bunch of new images (all are available as prints/posters) in the galleries, and have even created a brand new gallery for my circus art! In doing the latest updates, I was realizing that my website does need a lot of touching up and reorganizing...so that will be happening over the next few months. Goodbye sleep, hello working to the bone! ahahahahahaha...and, as you can see, the delirium has already begun to set in...
But no worries, I will be fine. I'd rather be eyeball deep in projects than bored silly.
