I have a handful of new art today! Yeah! A brand new jester piece, a new circus ACEO and a new dragon and nymph ACEO, and a Zazzle sale, too!
I will start with the beautiful new jester pin up..."Velveteen" is a dirty blonde jester, with a polka dot suit and a GIGANTOR piece of red velvet cake behind her. mmmmmmmm...cake....

Now, for the new ACEOs! "Bird Girl" is the latest in my circus & side show series...I like to think of her a carnie angel. :) Kinda makes me wish I'd given her a tattoo or 5. It's rather late in my neck of the woods...Well, it's late for me to be tinkering around online and posting stuff, but I'm not all that tired. Also, this post is partially an excuse to put off starting another project. Not that I don't *want* to create, I almost ALWAYS want to, but I am quite sure the focus just isn't there. Lately I have been trying to be mindful of not putting paint to canvas if I know I won;t give it the attention it deserves, in the hopes that I will begin to make more quality art and less mindless crap. Though I suppose that is a point of opinion and taste.
All rambling aside, I have two new pieces to share! A new installation to my "Inkling" dragon series, and a brand new jester pin up! Also, a handful of new ACEO auctions on eBay ;)
"Inkling 4- Summer Night" is the new dragon piece- A spotted dragon and a fairy in a little red dress are up late in the summer night...fireflies surround them as they chat in the mysterious darkness that is summer! Well, I have a small handful of new art to share with you all, plus some updates (art related, of course!) The very first Dragon Zodiac piece, a brand new mixed media ACEO, and more!
So, the very first piece in my Dragon Zodiac series is Leo. As organized as I am, I have opted to just randomly create each zodiac sign as I see fit! None of this "start with number one (Aries) and go consecutively" crap. "Leo Dragon" features a maned orange dragon, with big blue-green eyes, perched on the glyph for Leo. A lion (the token animal for Leo) and the sun (Leo's ruling planet) appear in the background...This is a larger piece for me, at 8.5" x 11" on bristol...I've decided to try out my mixed media recipe of acrylic paints, archival inks, and Prismacolor pencils (very similar components to my jester pin ups). In other news, I have updated my website galleries for this month! Lots of new images in the Fantasy Art Gallery and a few new ones in the Miscellaneous Art Gallery too! All of the new pictures are at the top of the page, and are marked "NEW" so you can find them easily! There are limited edition art prints and posters available for each image- just click on the small pictures, at it will bring you to the individual pages, where you can read about the piece, and view/purchase prints and posters. Everything purchased through my website gets shipped for free, too! There is also some fun news up on my homepage here if you would like to see what's new with some of my projects and such!
I've been spending a bunch of time in the garden lately; mostly weeding, cleaning up brush, and edging. The rose bushes are growing fast, as are the irises and of course a million lillies! Nothing has really bloomed quite yet, aside from the weeping cherry tree and the forsythias, and a few daffodils and tulips which are scattered across the lawn. Oh, yes, and tons of grape hyacinth! They just grow right out of the lawn. I didn't plant them that way, they must have been planted by my grandmother years ago, and have decided to migrate. So, it has been a little slower in the studio lately, because I know if I don't get to gardening, I'll end up with a jungle of weeds! But, I am also working on a painting commission, and the next Dragon Zodiac- Scorpio! I must admit, I am about two steps away from losing my mind, but...I just have to remind myself to breathe, and that everything will eventually even out again...

So...I have a brand new painting to show off (actually, it is a set of two paintings), plus website gallery updates, and probably a bit of rambling :)
The latest paintings are a set of two small pieces, each measures 5" x 7"...They are "Dragon Koi Fish # 1 + 2"- I just love these little guys, and I wish so badly that they were real creatures! Of course, I do love "normal" koi fish as well :) I just though putting a dragon spin on them would be cool!

I have been a bit behind schedule as far as actual creation goes...Real life has been somewhat demanding lately. :) (Who knew? heh heh!) But, I do really want to get some new stationery sets designed (these usually consist of specialized note paper, cards, stickers, bookmarks and plates, and a few tags, among other paper goodness). I'm also slowly getting more jesters sketched out, and have begun writing limericks for a possible Zombie Limerick Book #4...Yay! At any rate, I am beat, tired, and worn out, but still have a ton to get done, so...I'll be off!
