Happy weekend all!
As usual, I have been busy with lots of stuff! Of course, a lot of it is real life related, and not art related...:( I am trying to stay patient with the current setup...in a few weeks, I am hoping my hours at work will go down a bit and I will have much more time for creating...
So...I do have some new art to share, of course. Firstly, a few brand new ACEOs from my ongoing circus & side show series, and a zombie, too.
ZOMBIE!!! Sorry...*ahem* allow me to compose myself...........Okay. I have a brand new, ORIGINAL, zombie pin up girl ACEO illustration! I have titled her "Rotten B*tch"...she is illustrated in archival inks and acrylic paints on bristol...Up for auction on eBay, with a starting bid of just $5! I **LOOOVE** this piece, so if she does not get any bids, I think she will be drafted to my personal collection...You can see the auction listing, and make your bids, at the link below her picture:

Hello hello!
Whew! Busy week! Not a lot of time for art, sadly, but I seem to be making great progress on some of my other projects! And, as always, I have no respite from the influx of new ideas...
So, I do have a few new things to share- two new mermaid ACEO originals up for auction (plus a whole bunch of ACEO prints), and a zombie poster featuring 9 of my zombie ink blots!
Yes, New art!!! Both mermaids! The first is a little girl I like to call "Dark Waves"- she is a very sultry brunette siren, watching the sunset over crashing waves. I really love the colors in this ACEO! "Dark Waves" is up for auction on eBay, with a starting bid of just $5...To see the auction listing and perhaps make a bid, just visit the link below her picture:

The other new mermaid ACEO is called "Green Girl"- she's all green! I wanted to switch around the colors a bit in this piece, so the sand and rocks are pink...it's like an underwater candyland LOL! At any rate, this cuties is also up for auction on eBay, also with a starting bid of only $5. To see more details, pictures, and to make a bid, please visit the link below her picture:

And...a whole *slew* of 99 cent ACEO print auctions are also running...there are some older pieces, as well as some of my more recent ones. To see all the auctions I have on one page, just click the link below the picture:

Now...zombie time! I have finally gotten around to making up a poster featuring all of my Zombie Ink Blot images (based off the Rorschach psychology test)...It is up in my Zazzle shop, at the link below the picture, if you would like to see more/purchase one for yourself/a friend/loved one...You can also choose your own size of poster, what type of paper (or even canvas!) and even get a custom frame! Ah, how I love Zazzle! Here is the picture and the link:

The lovely folks over at MyTagArt have put up a bunch of new tubes/tag images for me! One of them is even seperated into three layers- what fun! Here is the link to my page there, where you can see all the available images; new additions are at the bottom of the page!

So, yes, I've been at my real job pretty much all week. I am very very glad to have a job. However, I am beginning to resent ALL THE HOURS I SPEND THERE. I love my crew. I hate pizza. I hate the mall. I hate not having time/energy to do all the things I want to when I get home. I wish I could just cut sleep out of my schedule entirely; that would solve a bunch of my troubles. Except, of course, for being tired all the time.

Ah, I have been such a slacker with my blog lately. Please accept my apologies, and know that I am still creating, even if i am not posting a lot :)
Anyway, enough blabber. I have a few new pieces to share tonight, along with some 99 cent ACEO auctions, and a nifty zombie binder...
So, first, the new art! I have been working on and off on this piece for over a week now...It's taken me virtually forever to get her done! I'm not used to taking so long on one piece, but I think she came out splendidly...
"Psychopomps" is an original 5" x 7" illustration, in acrylic paints and inks, featuring a lovely angel winged fairy and a bunch of sparrows. The title is a greek word meaning "soul guide", and sparrows happen to be one of the specific animals that help guide peoples' souls from one plane of existence to another...
She is listed for purchase in my darklingemily etsy shop, $32 plus shipping...Here is the link if you would like to view more of her, and perhaps even adopt her into your home:
"Psychopomps" original fairy + bird illustration
Now, new ACEO time! Yay! I've listed my latest Circus & Side Show art on eBay- "The Magician" is an original 2.5" x 3.5" illustration- a magician in a top hat is showing off his card tricks! Lots of detail in this tiny piece, and in the color scheme of red, yellow, blue, black, and brown, as all of my other Circus & Side Show ACEOs have been. He is listed for auction with a starting bid of only $5! To see more, just check out the link below his picture:

I also have a new fantasy ACEO listed on eBay- "Starflower Thicket" is an original illustration, with a tiny "white rabbit fairy" and a beautiful dark-haired nymph. To see the auction listing, view more pictures, and read the short blurb I wrote for this piece, just visit the link below the picture:

There is at least one mermaid ACEO ending soon, too, and a whole bunch of 99 cent ACEO Print listings up, of course!! To see ALL my art auctions on one page, just click the link under the picture:
ALL Emily's art auctions on eBay!
What else...Oh, yes! A new product from me, through my Zazzle shop! BINDERS!! YaY! As it is nearly time for school again, I thought I'd better hop on the binder band wagon and get some made up! I have a few options to choose from- two different zombie binders, and a dragon binder! As time flows, I will have a few more listed...To see all my new binders, just click on the link below the picture:
Lots of nifty binders for school, office, organization, etc
And a reminder, as it is almost August 15th...and on the 15th, I will be holding my 15% off all orders sale, in my darklingemily etsy shop! As usual, if you purchase anything on the 15th, please wait for me to invoice you with the 15% off discount...I only do it this way, because it saves me the trouble of having to change all my prices for one day...I may extend this sale to my zombietoes shop as well, and I will be sure to let you all know!
As for projects, I am in the mode of getting my zombie compilation book formatted- there are a few final touches on illustrations that need to be completed, but...hopefully I will have this baby ready to rock out before Halloween! The original deadline (yes, I do set deadlines for myself LOL!) was end of August; however, I have been at work (at my "real" job) A LOT and haven't had all the time I thought I would...But, such is life. :) I am also working on a new series of ACEOs, which may not be released until my Circus & Side Show series is complete (which may actually be the end of this month)...But, this new series is based off of one of my recent ACEOs, "Too Tired to Fly"...Here is a pic of her:
Each ACEO in the new series will have a beautiful woman and a dragon. I have them all sketched out in pencil, waiting for ink and paint :) But, first I must complete my other series LOL!! Not to mention my jester series (which is ongoing) and my poor, neglected dragon zodiac series...:( So...I suppose I better get back to the grind!

Good evening...
I will be keeping this short and sweet; I have to get to bed early tonight. Long day tomorrow, long rest of the week. So, I must get my sleep!
Anyhoo...on to less boring matters ;) I have some new original ACEOs listed on eBay, plus a few ACEO prints, so I will get to those right now!
The two new originals are both fire themed ACEOs... "Dremon 2" being a pretty demon fairy, sitting on an ottoman made from the skulls of the damned...or perhaps just the rather unfortunate. She is surrounded by the glowing orange and yellow flames of hellfire! This original 2.5" x 3.5" illustration is up for auction on eBay, with a starting bid of just $5! To view the listing and perhaps make a bid (if you dare), simply visit the link below her picture:

Helloz!
I know, I just went a whole week without posting a blog. :\ Truth is, there really wan't much to write about...until now! LOL!
I have some new ACEO auctions listed on eBay (of course!) and also a special treat for all you comic lovers! But first, I will start with the ACEOs...
Continuing my Circus & Side Show series with "Carousel Horse"- an original ACEO illustration (2.5" x 3.5"- acrylic and inks)- the carousel is my favorite ride. I know it's not the most exciting thing, but it's the decadence of the carousel that I love more than the motion of it. This art card is up for auction on eBay, with a starting bid of just $5- to see more and perhaps even make a bid, just visit the link below...Oh, and fair warning, it only has about 2 days left to go!
"Carousel Horse" original circus ACEO illustration
The other new original ACEO I have listed is a cute little fairy, playing on her laptop (the laptop has wings!). I've titled this one "Faebook", as I spend a lot of time on Facebook...it just seemed to fit, at least in my dorky world. She is also listed at a $5 starting bid. To see more details and get your bids in, just visit the link below her picture:
"Faebook" original fairy ACEO
Also, I've put up a handful of 99 cent ACEO auctions- an assortment of fantasy/pin up/ other randomness for you all to enjoy! Again, all of my ACEO prints have starting bids of just 99 cents! A few of the current listings include "Low Tide"- a sweet art nouveau inspired mermaid, and "Semi-Sweet"- the very first pin up jester illustration I ever drew. To see all my current 99 cent art listings, check out the link below the picture:

Now that you have patiently waited for me to run down my list of new art, I will share with you something funny! Occasionally, I will get the urge to draw up a comic strip (or in this case, a block) of things I find funny...These comics are probably not universally funny, but they help me deal with the idiocy I encounter in daily life. Lately, the idiocy has been rampant, so I may be doing a bunch more of these...They are not the best art in the world, just quick little sketches, but I try to get the body language as close to reality as I can...It's great therapy for me, and reminds me how important having a good sense of humor is, and also that I am not a one trick pony. So, with all that being said, I give to you...a comic:
Any questions, input, comments are welcome. I would like to expand on this comic idea, and perhaps if I get enough of them drawn up, I will put them in a hand bound book for posterity (and also for listing in one of my etsy shops, which are sorely neglected of late)...
Speaking of my etsy shop...I am having an impromptu SUPER SALE in my darklingemily etsy shop! I've dropped my original art prices *a lot*- for instance, every 5" x 7" original painting is now marked at just $10 (from $32), and every 8" x 10" original painting is marked down to $25 (from $55)!! I know, I am insane, but you know what...I need more room! It's not even funny anymore. So, yes, I implore you all to go check out this sale, here is the link:
darklingemily.etsy.com
Just type SUPER SALE into the searchbar at the top of my shop page, and it will give you all the sale listings! I will not be having this sale up for very long (I will be running it all weekend, until Sunday night, probably).
And now, I will be off to get some more odds and ends together for my many projects...Love to you all!

Good evening!
So, I do have a few new pieces up for auction- two jester pin up ACEO prints, a print of my ACEO "Over the Rainbow", and a new original! But, I kind of feel like rambling, so this blog post will mostly be me fulfilling *that* whim ;)
Okay, before I go off on a tangent, I'll let you all know about my latest auctions! I have a brand new original ACEO illustration listed- "Fancy Feathers" features a little girl fairy and her pet peacock- super cute! She is up four auction with a starting bid of $5...To see the listing page, and perhaps even make a bid, just follow the link below her picture:

Also newly listed are a few ACEO prints with 99 cent starting bids- two of my jester pin ups (Mangolomaniac and Sucker)...You can see the individual listings at the links below their pictures:

And one last one- an ACEO print of my original nude illustration "Over the Rainbow"- a pretty naked lady, sitting on a cloud, under an umbrella...I just love this piece! She is also listed at a 99 cent starting bid, and you can see more and make a bid at the link below her picture:

So...I'm gonna ramble about my week now. You've been fairly warned ;)
on Tuesday, I had to go into work in the early morning...When I got there, I noticed a baby bird hopping around in the road. So, I scooped it up and moved it to safety. I know you are not technically supposed to touch wild baby animals, because I guess the scent of human on them is sometimes enough to make the parents abandon them...But I was *not* going to leave that poor little guy out in harms way. It wasn't hurt, and was certainly about "learning to fly" age. Plus, one of the parent birds was right there, screaming at me the whole time. When I went on break later in the day, the baby and parent were gone, so...I assumed the best (for once)...Plus, I got to hold a baby bird before work! They are sooo cute :)
This morning, I found myself downtown before work, so I ran a few errands, grabbed a cup of coffee, and headed to the cemetery to visit with my namesake (Ms. Emily Dickinson). Some of the grass in the front of the graveyard hadn't been mowed in quite some time, and it was long and brown (but not in a gross way). In that part of the cemetery, the tombstones are very old, many are cracked and crooked. It was so quintessential, and I was silently cursing myself for not having my camera with me. So, I had a nice peacefully creepy morning, writing zombie limericks with Ms Dickinson in the graveyard.
It's strange, though, that a town as busy as Amherst has a "dead spot" (pun intended) right in the center of the center...I don't go to cemeteries and hang out because its cool and slightly gothy...I might be a dork, but I am not a big enough dork to be a goth (sorry goths). I'm just me. I just like that it is peaceful, but not all that lonely. I like that there is history and secrets, and lives past. Plus, even those dead and gone, for so long that there is no one left alive to visit them, still deserve a visitor now and then.
And...that's my ramble.
xo!

Hello lovelies!
This is gonna be a pretty lame post, because I am exhausted and have a bit of a headache. Too much sun, not enough water, too much worrying, not enough relaxing. Ah, life.
I have a few new ACEOs listed, all of them are original ink and acrylic illustrations, and all have starting bids of just $5!
The first is "Dragon Lily"- a tiny blue dragon is curled up in a bright day lily, and a fairy has just found his hiding spot! The link to the auction listing is below the picture:
"Dragon Lily" original fantasy ACEO
The other new fantasy ACEO I have up is a rose flavored mermaid! I have no idea where this one came from, but she sure is pretty! Her listing link is also below the picture:
"Relaxing Rose" original mermaid illustration
And, finally, my latest circus & side shoe ACEO- "The Contortionist"- by now, you may have noticed a color theme going on with this series...All primaries, plus ochre, brown, black, and white. I thought it would be a challenge to give myself some boundaries for once, and dang was I right! LOL! To see the auction listing for this ACEO, just visit the link below the picture:
"The Contortionist" side show ACEO art
So, yes, I am not feeling 100% today. I haven't been feeling all that great for a few days now, but am trying to muddle through. I have definitely bitten off more than I can chew, so I may be kind of quiet for a bit, until I work out all my projects...At the moment, I am still working on the zombie limericks. Almost done writing, then to illustrate, format, and so forth until I am pleased with the finished product. Of course, I will still be listing regular eBay auctions, though they will mostly be ACEOs...I have no idea when I will get to my next jester,or a new zodiac dragon, or anything else for that matter...*Sigh* I need more hours in the day. I need more days in the week. I am not going to be acquiring either of those things any time soon...
xo!
