Nude Fig Jester Pin Up, New Zombie Painting, + Funny Bunny 5
Almost the weekend...:D
In this post, there is a brand new jester, a new zombie painting, and the last two Funny Bunny ACEOs (for the time being). Also, here is a reminder that my darklingemily etsy shop anniversary sale is only going on for another few days!
Okay- fair warning- this new jester is partially nude, and you can see her nips, so if you are uncomfortable with that, don't read this post...:D This is "Fresh Fig"- she is awfully cute, and naked, too! woo hoo! Plus, figs, of course! I am hanging on to the original for now, but if you like her enough to want a limited edition print, they are listed in my etsy shop- the link is below the picture:
"Fresh Fig" nude jester pin up art prints
For ACEOs, I have number 5 in the "Funny Bunny" art cards series listed on eBay. This is an original illustration in archival inks and acrylic paint over scraps of vintage book pages...The auction starts at a $5 bid, and shipping is free as usual. To see the listing, please follow the link below the picture:

Last, but not least, is my latest zombie painting! I did not care for it when I first started it, but with enough layers of paint, I have come to like it very much. :) I call it "A Bad Approach"- it is an original acrylic painting, measuring 10" x 7" on a sheet of canvas. It is up in my zombietoes shop- to see the detail pictures and read the blurb, please follow the link below the picture:
"A Bad Approach" original zombie painting
I've also been working on some other zombie things, but they are not quite ready yet ;) so...back to the drawing table I go!
xo!

Raven 16, Cartoon Aquarium Urchins, + Funny Bunny ACEOs!
Hello!
So, tonight's art goodies are a bit random (though that seems to be my M.O. lately)...I've got a new addition to the Cartoon Aquarium, some new Funny Bunny ACEOs, and one more raven to share!
I know I've busted out a whole slew of raven paintings over the past few weeks- I just love the ravens, they fly right into my head and then right out again, onto canvas. It's a very seamless process, something I am quite thankful for. It's the closest I've ever come to "Art efficiency" heh heh. The hardest part is waiting for one layer to dry before starting on the next layer...
At any rate, here is the latest rave- "Raven 16" features two snuggled birds in a bare birch tree...I like this piece a lot, it seems very quiet, like a fresh-snow walk in the woods on a Tuesday morning when the rest of the world is at work or school...Ah, the quaint pleasures of having my own schedule! I'm rambling again...This piece is an original 5" x 7" acrylic painting on a sheet of canvas. It was listed for sale earlier in the day, but it has already sold! You can still see the picture here:
Next, I have a BRAND NEW Cartoon Aquarium painting! It's been awhile since my last C.A. piece, and I nearly forgot how much I love painting all the strangeness in the ocean! This round, I have a small 8" x 6" acrylic painting of three spiny urchins amongst colorful coral and seaweed. I have allowed my inner child to title this one, as I do most of them- "Three Sea Pricklies" is the name- it is available through my zombietoes etsy shop... The link is below the picture:
"Three Sea Pricklies" original Cartoon Aquarium painting
On eBay this evening I have listed the next two "Funny Bunny" ACEOs- #3 and 4! These are little original mixed media art cards (measuring 2.5" x 3.5", or landscape at 3.5" x 2.5"). They are created in archival inks and colored with acrylic paints over a scrap of vintage book page (from an old sewing manual). I made them because, well, I was feeling poopy the other day and needed to get myself out of the poop-rut. They are simply for smiling purposes. Each Funny Bunny ACEO is listed at a $5 starting bid, with free shipping! To see the latest, please follow the links below their pictures:
"Funny Bunny 3" original ACEO
"Funny Bunny 4" original ACEO
Now, I best be off to my desk- finishing up my latest jester, working on a new dragon painting, and some zombies, too!
xo!

Raven 15 Painting and Funny Bunny ACEO originals!
Only a few pieces to share tonight- yet another raven, and two silly little bunny ACEOs...perhaps a bit of rambling, too...
So, I suppose I will start with the latest raven piece :) This is "Raven 15"- a solitary bird on a tan and blue swirly backdrop...I love these colors together! It is an original painting, measuring 7" x 5" on a sheet of canvas...Up in my darklingemily etsy shop (at sale price until the end of the month) with free shipping! The link to see details/purchase is below the picture, as usual:
"Raven 15" original painting
What of Raven 14, you ask? Well, it is a commission piece, but if you would like to see it, there is a link here: "Raven 14". Please note- this is a reserved listing, so unless you are the person for whom it is reserved, please do not purchase this piece; thanks for your understanding.
Also new tonight- Funny Bunnies! I woke up from a slew of terrible dreams and a fitful night's rest this morning, and was not particularly feeling like being pulled in any direction suitable for "the grind"...so I just took it easy and messed around in my sketchbook. Normally, when I am feeling crappy, it comes out as crappy in my art...or at the very least, very dark and brooding. But I really just wanted to be happy, so I forced myself to cheer up by doodling little cartoons...and I came up with these sweet and weird little bunnies! Needless to say, they have already grown into a small series...There are two original "Funny Bunny" ACEOs listed on eBay (in auction format, $5 starting bids)...Each one is illustrated in archival inks and acrylic paint on a scrap piece of vintage book page...Here are the first two:
"Funny Bunny 1" original ACEO
"Funny Bunny 2" original ACEO
As of right this minute, I have no real concept of what tomorrow will bring, as far as art goes. I am nearly finished with my latest commission, which will most likely be completed tomorrow...But other than that, I haven't a clue. I am looking over all these recent series of art and thinking to myself "Damn, this is all so random. The styles are so different...yet they all come from my head." I know, from a professional perspective, it is not a good idea to be so all over the place with my style. I should just stick to one thing and get really good at it. Right? Sure. But...Eff that! I know I'd get bored and stop making art, should I choose to stick with one style. So, in lieu of coming off as a professional and turning my art from passion into "work", I choose to make art for me first, and if anyone else should happen to like it, that's super awesome. It really does make me all warm and fuzzy inside when my work speaks to others. Besides, I am not just one thing. Why should my art be?
That is my ramble for the night. Sometimes, my logical side really gets on my nerves. It helps to shut her up by writing. "Shut up you! Back to your corner! Don't you have paperwork to fill out or something?!" Heh heh heh...No, do not worry, I have not lost my mind. I just spend a little too much time alone with myself. Perhaps it is time to get a part time job, just to have some human interaction on a fairly regular basis...My cat is just not cutting it anymore. :D

Raven 12 + 13 paintings, stationery, + Dragon Original art auction!
Ooh, I was almost lazy enough to not post tonight, but then thought better of it! This is pretty much the first time I've sat down all day, so, once my butt hit the chair, I was like "ooh, that's sooo nice, maybe I'll just take OOONNE more day off" but...It is not to be :)
Anyway, I have some new paintings to show off tonight, plus another eBay auction (an original dragon painting!)...
First, two new ravens! Yes, I know, it is an obsession at this point...I am sure my mind will turn to another subject soon enough, but for now..."Raven 12" and "Raven 13"! "Raven 12" is slightly different that most of the others in the series, with a more defined "blackness"- in the way of swirly Celtic-like vines! I love this raven, he's got a bit of a blue undertone to him, and the background reminds me of going camping and burning marshmallows...mmmm! At any rate, this is an original 8" x 10" acrylic painting on a canvas panel. He is up at sale price in my darklingemily etsy shop. The link is below the picture:
"Raven 12" original painting
"Raven 13" is more along the lines of most in the series- two dark birds before quite a colorful sunset. This is a smaller 5" x 7" original acrylic painting, on a canvas sheet. It is also listed at sale price until the end of the month- to see detail pictures, and perhaps even adopt it, please follow the link below the picture:
"Raven 13" original painting
While I am on the raven note, I should mention that I have made up some raven stationery and note cards- they are in my Zazzle shop, and I will be creating more stationery items with some of the other ravens this weekend :)
As far as eBay goes, I have a handful of original paintings currently listed, all at a starting bid of $35 or less! Crazy! Heh heh! Tonight's listing is also an original painting, my little "Spelunker" dragon. He's a small 6" x 8" acrylic painting, featuring a big eyed white dragon and a bunch of shady bat roommates (or cavemates, rather!). He is up for a 7 day auction, with a starting bid of just $15 and free shipping! To see the listing/make a bid, please follow the link below his picture:
"Spelunker" original dragon + bats fantasy painting

(I took a little break from typing this out to make a cup of hot chocolate; it's yummy!) On a somewhat poopy note- the super awesome zombie flip book idea that I have been working on is being *really difficult* and taking up a lot of my time and energy...After much internal struggling, I have come to the conclusion that it is not a good idea for me to continue working on this project for the time being. It was a good idea in theory; in practice, it has proven to be a great big pain in the arse. I am sad to say that I feel like a bit of a failure at not being able to overcome this challenge. It's really more a case of not *wanting* to deal with it any longer. I need to spend my time on more fruitful endeavors. With the amount of time I've spent on this stupid thing, I could have painted many, many pieces of art, or gotten a lot more work done on one of my other books. So, that being the case...i am on to other things :) Perhaps someday I will revisit this idea, hopefully with more patience and energy ;). So, until next time...

The Locket Raven Painting, George the Octopus, bookmarks, jesters, and more!
Hidely-Ho!
Tonight's art is mainly ravens- I've listed a brand new piece, plus some bookmarks, and another low-starting-bid eBay auction! Also, some of my book related goodies are featured as the giveaway on The Book Faery Reviews blog!
I'll begin with the new raven painting, of course...I love this painting so much! It's titled "The Locket" and features one big raven flying off with a partially opened locket. It is a tall, thin acrylic painting, on gallery wrapped canvas- measures 10" x 24" x 1". You can see detail pictures and read the blurb I wrote for it at the listing- the link is below the picture:

Also in my darklingemily etsy shop are some new bookmarks! These are prints from my other recent raven paintings- there are three different ones up at the moment (ravens 8-10). To get one for yourself (or as a gift for someone awesome in your life) please follow the link below the picture:
Raven bookmarks (and other book related goodies)
And don't forget- my two year anniversary sale is still going! Many many of my original paintings are marked down until the end of this month! Plus, when you spend $10 or more, you get a free set of bird bookplates! Woo hoo!
On eBay tonight, I have relisted my original Cartoon Aquarium octopus painting "George"...He was up as a "Buy it Now" listing before, but this time I thought I'd lower the price and put him up as an auction listing :) He is up for a ten day auction, starting at just $35...with my usual free shipping! To see the auction, and perhaps place a bid, please follow the link below his photo:
"George" original Cartoon Aquarium octopus painting auction
I have been asked to be one of the sponsors for The Book Faery Reviews two year blog anniversary! How serendipitous- we are both two this month! At any rate, I have donated a mini set of bookplates and a lovely fairy bookmark to one lucky winner! If you'd like to check out the blog, the link is here The Book Faery Reviews.
One last piece of art before I retire to my workstation for the night- my latest jester! This is "Tiramisu Temptress"- a tasty Italian treat! I will be putting up prints of her in my darklingemily etsy shop later on this week, but for now, here she is:
Now, I am off to work work work! :D I'm getting a commission started, still mulling over stationery items and sets...and here and there I am writing random limericks ;)

Dragon Koi Fish painting + Website Art Gallery Updates
Hi Hi!
So...I have a brand new painting to show off (actually, it is a set of two paintings), plus website gallery updates, and probably a bit of rambling :)
The latest paintings are a set of two small pieces, each measures 5" x 7"...They are "Dragon Koi Fish # 1 + 2"- I just love these little guys, and I wish so badly that they were real creatures! Of course, I do love "normal" koi fish as well :) I just though putting a dragon spin on them would be cool!
So, they are listed as a set in my darklingemily etsy shop, marked down for my anniversary sale (along wil many many other originals). To see detail pictures and read the little blurb, please follow the link below the picture:
"Dragon Koi Fish 1 + 2" original fantasy painting set
I also wanted to let you all know that I have updated my website galleries with a bunch of new art!
Here are some of the newbies- limited edition prints and posters are available direcly through my site, and everything ordered there ships for free! Now, on to the art:
One new image from my Fantasy Gallery:
"Dusk" dragon
One from my Miscellaneous Gallery:
"Raven 9"
And, one from my Sexy Gallery:
"Mangolomaniac" jester and mango pin up
Again, there are many other new images, and the recent ones are always at the top of the page, and marked with "NEW" for easy viewing. The galleries have grown substantially over the last few months, so if you have not visited Darkling Treasures in awhile, I do implore you to do so if you like! There are also a million other fun things there, including links to other artist websites, a brief bio on yours truly, commission information, links to my art around the web...and more!
I have been a bit behind schedule as far as actual creation goes...Real life has been somewhat demanding lately. :) (Who knew? heh heh!) But, I do really want to get some new stationery sets designed (these usually consist of specialized note paper, cards, stickers, bookmarks and plates, and a few tags, among other paper goodness). I'm also slowly getting more jesters sketched out, and have begun writing limericks for a possible Zombie Limerick Book #4...Yay! At any rate, I am beat, tired, and worn out, but still have a ton to get done, so...I'll be off!

NEW Raven paintings and Jellyfish Painting auction!
OOh, I have been busy painting away...Tonight, I have two new raven paintings, and an older painting up for auction at a super low starting bid!
I've picked up on my ravens series, after many months off to persue other things...But now I have two new additions to share! These are both small pieces, painted in acrylics on 5" x 7" sheets of canvas. They are slightly abstract, a little bit swirly, a little bit smokey. Each is listed in my darklingemily etsy shop, at sale price for my two year anniversary! To see them both, just follow the link below each picture:
"Raven 8" original painting
"Raven 9" original painting
I'm definitely in a bird mood, so you can bet your butt I'll be making a few more raven paintings to share!
Also tonight, I have put up one of my Cartoon Aquarium pieces for auction on eBay- "Kellie, Ellie, and Nellie" is my original cartoon jellyfish painting; I just love this one, they remind me of giggly marshmallows! Anyhoo, this is the ORIGINAL painting, measuring 11" x 14" on gallery wrapped canvas, and it is up for a very low $35 starting bid! To see the listing, and perhaps make a bid, please follow the link below the picture:
"Kellie, Ellie, and Nellie" original jellyfish painting
I think I have too many projects rolling around in my head again, and I'm having a hard time focusing on the task at hand, even with my dayplanner always at my side. I know it's a good thing to be so inspired, but...sleep is also a good thing; so is balance. I will have to find a way to get all my craziness in order before it all comes crashing down on top of me...Yoy!
